Ingredients and Measurements:
3 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. yeast
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tbsp. tumeric/dye (you may add more depending on your color preference)
2 tsp. ground geera
1/2 cup frozen/fresh chopped spinach
1/4 cup split peas powder
10 cloves garlic (ground with the peppers)
3 hot peppers (use more or less depending on how spicy you like your bara)
salt to taste (about 2 tsp.)
water to combine your dough
oil to fry

Matthew's recipes always work you can't go wrong with his recipes. Matthew need a recipe for cheese straw. I tried it with cheese paste and it was a mess.

Most of our ancestors came from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar during the Indentureship period of the History of Trinidad and Guyana

My brother traced our ancestors all the way to the village they came from and they are from Bihar. He was even able to get the name of the ship that they were on.
