Dear Matt (and Brant also...)! The talk is fabulous. Really. I almost cried just from imagining how much the story is like the true Lord of the Rings, with Joseph hiding and defending the true Heir to the Throne and fleeing to Egypt. Wow. And btw - the joke about Eusebius' Church History - "We all have a copy!" - is one of the best naturally funny scenes I have ever seen. It shows how much all the greatness of the True Faith is always interwoven with humor... Thank you from Berlin / Germany! And God bless!

Where in the Bible does it tell you to pray the Rosary? A: As you know the bible does "not" tell us to pray the Rosary because this form of prayer originated only during the middle ages. )))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) Do we pray the Rosary to Mary or to God? The Rosary is a meditative prayer based on Scripture. When we pray the Rosary, we ask Mary to pray for us as we seek to grow closer to her son Jesus by contemplating His life, death, and Resurrection. This is my daily prayer to St. Joseph, and my favourite images are Zurbaran's The Crowning of St. Joseph by Jesus, and an icon now vanished from the internet, about which the only data I copied (luckily) was a name: Piergiuliano Chesi, and it may be in the Church of the Holy Family, Failsworth, Manchester (UK) O blessed Joseph, to you God entrusted His only Son, and the maiden He chose for His mother; in you Mary placed her trust; guided by you, Christ grew to manhood. St. Joseph, earthly father and guide of Jesus our Redeemer; virginal spouse of the Mother of God; Strong, loving guardian of her and of her Son; Patron of the afflicted, Support of those who struggle through life, to us, too, be a father, a guardian and guide. Dear St. Joseph, pray for us, pray for me. Obtain for us grace, mercy, and courage, strength of purpose, and a clear mind, and do thou, terror of demons, defend us from every evil. Amen.

Thank you oh so much for this teaching on Saint Joseph. I have had a devotion to this powerful Saint for most of my life and, in recent years, I thought and believed that Saint Joseph was conceived without Original Sin because of His most important role as the father of Jesus, the Messiah - Prince of Peace. It makes a lot of sense that it be that way because ‘The father of a prince is always a king’. It is indeed time for Saint Joseph to take his place along side of His Son and Spouse, the ever Virgin Mary. Thank you for letting me continue to believe what I already believe but with Scripture to back up my beliefs. Praise the Lord! Alleluia. Hosannah, and amen!

We only need LOGICAL REASONING, which unfortunately some don't have... That is the reason why God made Mankind above the Animal Kingdom... If the WORD of God (Written Inspired Scripture) is "INSUFFICIENT" (Incomplete), how can it REPROOF, CORRECT, and INSTRUCT in Righteousness that the Man of God may be PERFECT, thoroughly FURNISHED unto all GOOD WORKS???... (ref. 2 Timothy 3:16) "If sinful (Evil) people know how to give their children good things, how much more God our Father in Heaven"... (ref. Matt. 7:11)... With this passage, will God/YHWH give INSUFFICIENT (Incomplete) "WORD of God" (Inspire Scripture) for those who seek God, His TRUTH, and Righteousness???... NOPE, it must be SUFFICIENT/COMPLETE... As a good old saying, "Before a Person knows something is INCOMPLETE (insufficient)... one must know the COMPLETE (sufficient) first." Facts and Truth of the matters, Biblically and Logically speaking... Praise be to God in Christ Jesus... Amen.

Thank you for this wonderful discussion on my favorite Saint after the Virgin Mother, Mary. Btw, I remember watching two other videos from other sources. One of them was surmising that the time around Jesus' birth must have been a Jubilee year (or after a Jubilee year), when land sold would return to the original owner. This could explain why Joseph, who had settled in Nazareth, had to return to Bethlehem for registration for taxation. Maybe among the reasons he stayed longer in Bethlehem, long enough for the Magi to find his family, was either he thought he could resettle there, to enable Jesus to strengthen His claim as Messiah, or to try to dispose of his land again, if he thought settling somewhere else was safer for the family. The other video had a small discussion about a speculation that descendants of David settled in that little village up north, all of them awaiting the Messiah--but no reason was given for it, despite Herod's wrath being a clear one. The name "Nazareth" was supposedly derived from Isaiah's prophecy that the Messiah will be born from a "branch (nasr) of Jesse" (Davidic line). This latter speculation feeds into my own leaning towards the belief that Mary herself is a descendant of David, because Jesus derives His blood and ancestry from her, although in His time, legal paternity seemed to hold more weight (e.g., in the case of levitical marriages) because that is what is entered in the genealogy records. But until I watched this video, I never thought of the true meaning of being of the royal House of David and the political implications of it under Herod and Rome. Thank you for this discussion!
