It can be a bit hazardous. You want to loosen the strings before doing this. If you've ever had a guitar string break, you know that it can be pretty unpleasant when it hits exposed skin. I once had a piano string go through my hand during a pitch raise. It went straight through like a hypodermic needle. It wasn't as serious as I thought it was (it's quite distressing when you realize something has gone through a part of your body even if the damage isn't that bad.). If you do want the joy of clipping a fully tuned piano (it IS fun and you DO have to get them off for restringing), I recommend doing it from behind the capot. The strings can't really hit you from there.

I like this idea so much it's different and cool. People trying to push the limits is what made instruments in the first place. My advice is to contact a guitar strings manufacturer and have them send you proper length strings for your piano then contact your tuner guy to tune the piano make another video. With proper length strings you might not get that hyper vibration that you got playing certain notes. I think it sounded cool and I think many people would like to see you revisit this idea.

@TheSoloBeater4 жыл бұрын
@@felixpadilla3215 it sounded wavy because it was out of tune LMFAO also he played it differently the second time around, the first time he held the pedal down nearly the entire time but on the tuned version he used the pedal intermittently and cut notes that were meant to be held short so that might be the reason it sounds less melodic the second time. The tuned version was actually way easier on the ears than the original, the original sounds like nails on a blackboard for people with trained ears.

From the reverse side, I went to a music store in a small town while looking for strings for my 5-string bass. All they had were 4-string packs, but they had a B bass piano wire. It was thick and long, but I was able to use it. I LOVED the sound from that B string. It almost had a bell-like quality to the tone, and the shimmery sound when it was slapped was undescribable. That was neary 20 years ago, but I've always wanted to try that again. This video brought back a happy memory, though the video was kind of haunting.
