In the field of extremely niche graphical things in games, I must say that the "Sanyo" sign at this track has got to be the most realistic shiny sign in the history of racing games. Even though it's just an advertising sign in a game, it wows me to this day. Much better than those ugly screens they have there in real life now, at any rate.

It's fun to consider that Enthusia also had a track in London, or should I say, "Not London™" a few years before GT, in two layouts, but the Enthusia staff had a vastly different vision for their version of the track, and yet in that track you still go through Regent Street in both layouts, and the shorter layout actually passes through Admiralty Arch which is kind of funny considering your remarks hahaha. As for why it was cut,I believe they probably felt like it wasn't necessary since it didn't extended the track enough in an interesting manner, and since they made the "short track" first, that was what they kept instead.

@@MattJ155 It's a wonderful game, it's really depressing Konami abandoned it as quickly as they did, but releasing it at around the same time GT4 did was a very, very bad idea... >w>' There's also a track set in Paris and even one in San Francisco, plus a bunch of other wonderful fictional tracks. Tsukuba and Nurburgring appear to fill the role of the real tracks.

There's quite a lot of interesting cut tracks from GT5, from the full London course to SSRX's infield layout, but I think the one that intrigues me the most has to be the Matterhorn rally course. Only the course's UI map and thumbnail photos exist, as well as a very incomplete version of the driveable course in one of GT5's prototypes with barely any detail. It was going to be a brand new circuit, but unlike Piazza Del Campo it wasn't advertised and didn't have any known reasons as to why it was cut. Matterhorn would later be used for GT6, but we instead got four road course tracks. I've always wondered why we never got the rally course in GT5 or 6, was it perhaps because we already had an array of Swiss rally courses with Eiger? Who knows...

I remember that when I went to London for my class trip, one day I spent quite some time around the short London Circuit. I had lunch at a Burger King situated at the main straight and I had dinner with the whole class later that same day in a restaurant overlooking turn 1. Overall it was a fun trip, however I remember that one day I spent close to the Gran Turismo track best for some reason.

Now its time to someone port that track and extend it for Assetto Corsa or something ... And yeah those mid paths need to be removed, the road is super crammed I just dont see this place being a race track like that. Also I dont know how would all those businesses feel by not working for few days or residents not be able to move in and out because everything is blocked off for a race event. "its just a game, chill" yeah but still I cant help and think of these things, considering it's rather a simulation game then just a arcade racer.

@@ruzgarakgul2051 he does now, other than GT stuff (that are reasonably more positive these days, especially when it comes to older GTs) he's been making deep dive videos about JGTC / Super GT racing, which I think is a unique niche that barely anyone, if any, on the platform create videos about. His video quality is way better now, and he did mention Matt a couple of times in past videos so I guess there's probably a handful of people who discovered this channel that way. His long form GT uploads takes me back to like over a decade ago when I first discovered this channel, it's good to have more creators making GT videos.

I wonder if the reason why it was cut is because it's too narrow, in addition to it being boring? Yes, I know we have Citta di Aria (probably spelled it wrong) that's even narrower, but that course has interesting bends and whatnot, a very challenging track. As much as I'd love to drive on the long course, at the end of the day, it's mostly just... straight lines. And if I wanted to drive fast in a city course, we have Tokyo R246. Or I don't know, maybe licensing reasons perhaps?
