I agree! This is why I like watching Matt's videos, they're more conversational than other KSP KZbinrs'. It makes them feel more friendly, like he actually wants you to stay and watch to the end of the video, instead of just literally pestering you to.

It’s simple. 1. [Insert you’re preferred political party] can do no wrong, while the other is pure evil. You must always win, they must always lose, anything else is unacceptable. 2. Do whatever you can to support your donors, such as contractors for major projects. 3. Do occasional token gestures for your political base that doesn’t donate large sums of money.

Ion engines can technically be used on tylo, you can get into lko with ion engines... it only took over 16,000 parts, he used part welding to make it not take a whole month to load and run at 1 frame a hour, tylo might be barely possible without part welding, but it would be a 4 frame per second behemoth at launch. Then again stratznblitz uses mammoth engines as rcs for his behemoth crafts.

One lander for refueling, one for Laythe and one for vacuum landing and acting as a tug boat for the other landers (so I didn’t need to drag the bulk of the ship to every planet). having had to do plumbing on old homes, maintain wells and pools, and even empty a septic system in my youth, I learned a lot about in door plumbing and pool care so I'm pretty sure your yellow water was one of three things... either A: it was being treated with chlorine (common practice and not as bad as it sounds), B: you had Iron and Manganese from either rusty pipes or well water, or C: you had a water softener that was pretty old and the soluble iron on the water softener resin may have oxidized to rust. All three would give you yellow water that smelled a bit funny. But given this was a city building I'd probably bet on it being number 3, just an old water softener that needed to be changed. Hope that helps your yellow mystery water make a bit more sense. and none of the three things are like super dangerous or anything, just annoying is all.

One thing I love about the Apollo missions is they ended up alternating between the serious, sense-of-history missions and the ones that were shouting yippee and playing with golf balls. It's kind of a shame Collins never landed because you know he'd have done something that'd have got him a real bollocking when he got home. Also, that sounds less like a placement flat and more like something Stalin would have done to break people's spirits.

Huh. Came for the Jool 5 mission, stayed for the stories. Your description of Crewe reminds me of a comedian (can't remember who) who did a stand-up thing where he asked a member of the audience "where are you from?". They'd answer, and he'd say "I'm sorry" and so they repeated themselves because they thought he didn't hear them. Then he'd say, "No, I'm sorry for you if you're from (wherever)". That sounds like it'd suit Crewe well.

Thanks Matt Honestly I've probably learned the most through your channel in regards to ksp!!! I hope I can make a positive impact myself!

I really wanna see you do a mission some time where you don't "head canon cyro" You call this maximal jool mission why not take a long enough living space and storage to be like a real mission. Sure you couldn't do it in one launch but that's so much better, Why always one launch?

Our fridges are gigantic, and our water is also transparent... at least in my experience... Your commentary on your living arrangements was priceless! I'm a huge Douglas Adams fan and fan of British comedy in general. You were spot on! Feel free to insert RL commentary in place of maneuver node descriptions anytime. Hope you continue on through KSP 2!

Video idea: Making a reusable interplanetary ship (like one that can stay in orbit and make multiple trips to and from planets)
@John_Gillman
@John_Gillman Жыл бұрын
Bro tip: if you have early versions tundra technologies installed, you can use the starship to land on any moon in the jool system since it can easily survive Reentry, has room for more than just scientists and pilots, has strong enough engines to land if it isn´t fueled to overflowing, and has vacuum optimised engines. if you have a Starship in orbit for refuelling at both kerbin and laythe you can use another starship sent from kerbin, refuel in LKO, go to Laythe (it has ~5km/s of ΔV in space), use the atmosphere to slow down and put a payload in orbit, refuel and return to kerbin.

Matt, you're a Brit. When it comes to the banana experiment, you should know better. Americans might fall for it, but we know it's very hard to lose heat in a vacuum because we use vacuum flasks to keep our tea hot. ;) Incidentally, the hottest temperature ever recorded of a naturally-occuring substance was not anything to do with the Sun, it was plasma in the vicinity of Jupiter. The probe which recorded it was not damaged because the plasma was so thin, it could hardly impart any heat to the dense metal of the spacecraft.

9Y 134D (Kerbin time) At the top left, I'm guessing that's an accurate count towards the end on the main module. Accounting for Kerbin -> Earth time, where a Kerbin year is 0.3 Earth years, it would be 2Y 256D Earth time. This video took an hour, so overall time compression was 9Y134D (Kerbin Time) : 1H (Earth Time) = (Earth Time) 23,662 hours into 1 hour. (I used the KSP wiki for conversion values, some approximation for ease, and I didn't include the bit at the end; so I'd say ±6H Earth time [~1D Kerbin time]) If anyone finds I did this wrong, please let me know :)
