I love those dark blue tones - they shift so much. When it is bright out they really pop or when it is overcast they get a really cool depth from all the angles to look at. It is very similar to the Golf R Lapiz Blue Metallic or my own car, the Seat Leon Cupra in Mystery Blue. So nice choice - looking forward to the see this in it's best condition on the GT4 after Matt is done with it after delivery :)

Hey Matt - per my last comment on your original GT4 spec video (thanks for the reference), I'm still betting the steering column will be deviated stitched in sliver. At least that's how they have been showing up in Europe with the same option code (858) without selecting any additional deviated stitching throughout. It's also the same when you select 'extended leather' on the dash (automatically comes deviated in silver vs. black stitching). I think your steering wheel and shifter will be deviated with the Alcantara. If you spec leather (steering & shifter)...those are both black stitching for some unknown reason. Btw...Burmester is a sound option in the 718 Spyder for $4700...but Bose is more than enough - the engine will be all the music you need my friend!

Actually you can select steering column with deviated color stitching all by itself- without the entire deviated package .

Soon as they suggested the extended stitching in a different colour to the silver stitch (that comes by default of your earlier interior option) it just goes to show how little faith one should put in a dealers POV. What was the point of even discussing any of this with them, they brought zero to the party.

i really think it is dumb of porsche that even if you are in the GT car realm 2 way auto climate controls is an option - and at that one that you can missunderstand. It is kind of ridicoulous. I'd understand if you could choose climate "no" or "yes" to be more or less track oriented with the order.

24 minutes into a meeting to discuss the specification the salesmen tell you that your car is locked. What the fuck is the purpose of meeting to discuss the spec if it can't be changed. The Porsche guys should have told you right from the start.

Great video Matt I would like to hear your thoughts concerning the handling difference (not horsepower) difference in your canyon driving. GT 4 VS GT3RS. Plus if you have experienced a cayman S . Matt, you might want to consider getting the auto dimming mirror and integrated rain sensor if you want to add a radar detector (by tapping the mirror). Not sure if that’s the case with the 718 GT4 but for my 997 GTS Cab I can’t tap the mirror for my Uniden since I don’t have that option.

What's not to like about a 4L naturally aspirated mid-engine manual porsche...and there will be countless exhaust mods...almost every top exhaust company is working on R&D for this exhaust system. One already has a simple solution to uncork the sound with an over-the-axle pipe replacement that deletes the sound deadening particulate filter between the headers and muffler system. Eventually, they'll figure how to get the bhp over 450 w/ future ECU mods. I bet he prefers it to the GT3RS - better balanced and more ride compliant for a daily.

Gen1 C8RS Absolutely right Gen1...while both track focused, I think the GT4 will be a better daily / b-road car. Both great cars that offer their own experience. Take care.

I love the Porsche GT2RS in Chalk... The GT4 looks great in black with black wheels and carbon brakes. Even Porsche is fishing in the Asian sea with the name of the blue. Obviously looking to cash in on the millions of Asians looking to buy a Porsche. How long before we loose Porsche to cheapening of components, lower pricing and outsourcing of production to China. If it's not going on already... And you lost me when you didn't choose bucket seats. Good luck in your purchase. Off to another video somewhere.

You say 'boring' and 'old man', I'd say refined and upscale. I happened to see a Miami GT3 RS on the road today and it looked great, but I still prefer Gentian Blue. It looks beautiful in person.
