Great list! PT has been one of my all-time favorites since a friend played them for me in May of 2003. I haven't stop listening since. They are incredible live as well. I have read that Steven sometimes gets frustrated by his vocal range. To be honest, I don't know how much I would care for his vocals had he had a larger vocal range. I truly believe his voice fits the music perfectly. Sometimes his phrasing gives me chills. I am glad you took the time to make this video. Normally I don't care for list videos but this was great! Thanks for doing this.

What you said about C/C perfectly put into words what I felt. I love it, but I don't often listen to it. I found to my surprise, agreeing with everything you said, with the exception that Fear of a Blank Planet is my top album, Deadwing in close second.

Understood. Fear of a Blank Planet might be a better album if there was some objective measure…

Hate to agree with you on C/C, I think it's an amazing record but somehow I rarely returned to it after the first month of release - great list!

That’s kind of how I feel.. that the record’s objectively great, but I never have the urge to return. Thanks for watching!

Stupid Dream is still my all fav. #2 Fear of a Blank Planet #3 In Absentia #4 Up the Downstairs #5 Lightbulb Sun. Great listing though. it's hard to do this depending on when you started listing to Steven's monster abilities as a writer and producer. I could listen to any of their albums in any order any time.

Maybe it’s so obviously great and legendary that it didn’t bear mentioning 🙂

And BTW, my list is similar. Top 3 is In Absentia, Deadwing and Fear of a Blank Planet, in that order. First time I heard PT was when I was learning to record music in college circa 2006. It was on the iTunes of a list of songs to reference in the control room. Listening to Melotron Scratch, Blackest Eyes and Trains for the first time on those studio monitors was an EXPERIENCE.

Hi. I'm a bit late but this is my list. It is not complete yet because i am still discovering the band but at this moment there is my list: 1.- Fear of a Blank planet 2.- Dead Wings 3.- In Absentia 4.- Signify 5.- Stupid Dream The next album that i will dive in will be The Sky Moves Sideways and Lightbulb Sun, see you then. Thanks

You’ve started with the right ones… but enjoy the other early stuff. It took me a few listens to grasp all the 90s stuff, having known the heavier side of the band.

I actually just showed my PT (incomplete) vinyl collection and commented on where many of their records fall, but I've never done an actual full ranking I don't think, but my ranking wouldn't differ too much from yours save for how low I put Fear of a Blank Planet I guess. I've always felt they had the run from Lightbulb Sun-Deadwing which was their peak, and every other record stis below those 3. I do know, there's a percentage of older prog heads who got into them in the 90's and favor that era, including a friend of mine. I also think things like Nil Recurring and Voyage 34 could be included among their work.

9:28 seems like a factual error, as least in the way you phrased it. His first solo album Insurgentes actually came out before The Incident. The limited edition was November 2008 with general release in February 2009. The Incident was September 2009. I appreciate the time you took at ranking all the PT albums. Like you, C/C is yet to have any emotional resonance with me, but ill keep listening.
