I loved my tinyhawk freestyle v1 which I modded with the nano2 cam, xm+ receiver and a rush tiny tank vtx (500mW), which I eventually destroyed by crashing into salt-water. I'm awaiting delivery on it's replacement, the Freestyle 2, and straight out of the box it shouldn't need all the mods needed on v1. Great review

I agree about how much fun toothpick drones like the tinyhawk freestyle are. I'll, too, often grab the toothpick instead of my 5 inch for the exact same reasons. It's so durable, low risk, and far cheaper. The props are cheaper and more durable, and the batteries are far cheaper. I've got a crash reel with a modified tinyhawk race and in the whole time, all I've had to replace are props, and not as often as you might think. Mine does have a different FC, VTX, and canopy, and all is conformal coated though. If anyone is thinking of a toothpick, just do it! The whoop style drones would probably make a better very first drone though for learning.

@flightevolution81324 жыл бұрын
If that's the case, please skip PID tuning for now. It is for much more experienced pilots capable of noticing specific flight characteristics and addressing them with tuning. Most stock tunes are fine, and if not just load up standard profiles on whatever software you use for a better tune.

I absolutely _love_ my Freestyle 2. It's my first ever FPV and I've been using it near-daily for about 3 weeks now; I don't feel like I've even come close to using it to its full potential. BTW for anyone interested: I use 2x 850mAh batteries and get about 8-10 minutes of flight time, and the added weight over the supplied 450mAh batteries isn't noticeable - to me anyway. Also I lowered the camera angle to 0 degrees at first, and dropped the throttle to 60% in BetaFlight, until I got the hang of it. I can do Level and Horizon Mode flying, but I can't handle Acro to save my life lol. Either way I'd 100% recommend this drone!
@doodgeslagenmug Жыл бұрын
Huh where did you find 850mAh 1s lipo’s?
@antrigen14804 жыл бұрын
For the record you don't have to use two 1s lipos in the Tiny Hawk FS 2. Mine came set up to run on 1 battery with a warning to change the Pid Profile if two batteries were used. Even came with a jumper/plug for use with only one battery.

@zeejimi40444 жыл бұрын
The debate with regard to which of these drones you should buy is quite simple : both ! If you don’t want to buy both, you need to decide on whether HD-Video and filming indoors is more important to you than the dynamic that the Tinyhawk II has to offer. Probably the mobula is the better choice for absolute fpv-newbies, and the Tinyhawk is the better choice for those who want to zip around faster, and further. The tinyhawk lacks prop guards, not that they are really required for flying as the drone is pretty rugged, but in my view they would be advisable from a safety point of view, as the authorities are dreaming up more and more regulations for flying drones, and prop guards protect props..and people !

It's interesting that, in this video, you cover the Mob6 HD and TH2. You should try the non HD Mob6! You'll find them drastically different! That extra 7g on a 65mm drone is HUGE! As someone who started with EMAX products exclusively, I can pretty confidently say that, while they are great products for beginners, you will quickly outgrow them. When this happens, their flaws become quite apparent. Namely the all-in-one flight controller/ESC stacked with the VTX. Honestly, I think the flight controller and ESC are pretty solid, but the way that they have chosen to connect them to the VTX to it is very weak and problematic. I can't tell you how many times my flight buddy and I have fought with repairing the connection between the two. Do I recommend their products for beginners? Absolutely. Just keep in mind that they have their share of problems and you'll likely outgrow them quickly. Great video, by the way! Keep them coming!
