I'll never forget my 1st year teaching you were in my 7th grade general music class and I thought, for sure, I was going to lose my job because you made it sooooo difficult...but then something clicked with us and you were very enjoyable in 8th grade choir (I think you auditioned for a solo maybe?) and beyond You helped get that drama program off the ground and came through in the clutch when I needed it. If I remember correctly, we ended up listing you as the understudy for all male roles, and you told me how ridiculous I was for it (not wrong). Your intermission was great and I love that you said it was "wreckless and irresponsible" of me, because let's face it, it sure was :) Good to see you doing well!

Matt Rife is one of those very few 'don't forget your back-up pants when seeing live' comedians. Yeah, peeing my pants laughing is kinda gross and unfortunate, but there are very few things in life that feel better than laughing so hard that parts of your body actually betray you. So in my opinion... fair trade, so I'll happily take that any day!! ☺️ Thanks Matt for making peeing in my pants so goddamn enjoyable! 😆 I'm no comedian but I would guess that as one, being personally requested to join someone like Dave would be insane, and probably one of the top compliments you could receive (as long as you're someone with enough sense to recognize Dave's immense talent anyway.) I actually live in Dayton and I unfortunately never heard anything about this. I mean, I feel like I heard something about Dave doing some shows (or at the very least, about him being in town) but I was out of a job at the time and definitely couldn't afford tickets so I didn't think much of it. But I had no idea Matt was there with him. Would've made for a damn good time! And for Matt to have that as a follow-up to making/breaking that record just beforehand... well if it hadn't been clear before that, that's pretty good confirmation that you're doing something right. Matt, you are so smart, talented, quick-witted, and edgy in the best way possible, and obviously, funny. This stuff doesn't happen to just anyone; you've earned your rightful place amongst the greats!! ❤️🖤❤️

This was a cool episode. I grew up about 30 minutes away from Dayton in a town smaller than your home town, and I used to just tell people I was from Dayton because obviously no one knew my hometown. It was nostalgic for me watching you get nostalgic with your hometown, because no matter how much of a dump it was - it was always "home" and I think most people from small towns can relate to that feeling. I live in the Dayton area still, and Chapelle has been so awesome for the community. Really cool that you got to meet him and get some advice. This was an awesome video.

Hahahaha I got my first bike at 4, rode it to the checkout at a K-Mart. I was adamant that my Grandpa take the training wheels off the very next day. Spent all day begging. He finally said "okay but they're not going back on." I too learned how to ride my bike on a gravel farm road. Earned some scars and three stitches in my knee from my aunt on the front porch learning to ride that bike. Also fond memories haha.

It’s hard to believe I lived in the same town as you. I also remember playing ball on all three of those fields and when we won go to the dairy queen right next to Steve’s market. I lived in front of the water tower when I was little and then we moved when I was 8 20 mins away to cable OH. I also had Mr. Waibel for choir and did two plays with him on that stage, he was the most chill teacher and the best.
