This was very encouraging to me personally. I've known Christ as a child, and don't remember a "conversion". I remember my baptism, and I remember, on a daily basis being drawn to Him, being convicted of sin and being in a "posture" of need for Christ's salvation. Jesus Christ is my Lord!

Praise God brother, I have always had a struggle at times of have I ever had that "conversion" moment. I sit in the grace of God the same way you described it, daily being drawn to the Father through faith in Jesus Christ and wanting to live for Christ and Christ alone!

@@Resenbrink My dad was a laid back agnostic who does not believe one can ‘know’ God and he chose to do a great deal of good works in the community. He also worshipped his ancestors, quite literally. My mum was a strict parent & an atheist so I grew up in a family that let me think for myself. When I was a teenager, I read many major religions & also investigated the claims of Christ. Guess what? I still became a Christian by God’s Grace! Decades later my mum strangely became a Christian. Finally, at her funeral my dad received Christ, too. However, Christian parents sometimes teach their children because the Bible commands them to bring them up in the way of God by training and role modelling God’s good moral values to bless their little ones. Having said that, sadly, MOST Christian parents don’t. They don’t train or role model to their kids about godly love & godly living at all. Then they are surprised when their teenagers enter universities & forget or leave God/church. Many studies have shown that anywhere 66-80% teens who grew up in churches in childhood, leave church altogether on entering college education. Back to square 1.

Thank you so much. Especially the last half of the message. Having grown up in a christian home, I cannot pinpoint the moment I got saved, and that caused me to endlessly "pray the prayer" and fret with assurance of salvation since everybody else I know remembers the exact moment they got saved. This message was Godsent thank you.

The heart is the seat of the will. Enthroning Jesus as Lord in your heart is an act of turning away from sin and self is taking them both off the throne of your heart and putting Jesus as Lord of your heart, mind, strength and soul and loving God and others. There are many sides to the perfect gem of salvation through Jesus, said one Dr. Wayne Ward, decades ago.

If you want to learn, or be trained, how to share the Gospel with children contact someone within Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF). CEF is the world’s largest outreach ministry to children. Last year this ministry reached over 22 million children with the Gospel worldwide. They are in every state, and perhaps county in every state, in the USA. CEF is in nearly every country in the world. If you are serious about child evangelism here is there website: www.cefonline.com

On face value this seems nice, the better way to handle it and ultimately this method is probably one of the better ways to indoctrinate your kids. But it is just that, indoctrination. Pastor said the most important step was to essentially drill the gospel into their heads (I get it, not coercively). Work the Jesus narrative in every interaction. Don’t you see how of course kids would believe this is all true? It makes sense, we do this with playing sport, learning music with habit. But in the case of faith, say for the sake of argument, music exists only as a concept, no one has actually heard a single piece of music, no instruments exist and then you’re taught how to be a musician. This is seemingly quite absurd. The analogy has a bit of work, but I think the fact that faith usually requires this type of entry, would seem to point to its lack of actual root in reality. Faith “works” on a lot of levels, I certainly can concede to that, but for me, once I saw the man behind the curtain, it has become nearly impossible for me to unsee it.

I was enjoying that until they crushed your aspirations! Anyway, I disagree- Teach your child to think criticly, to discern between good and bad evidence, present them with the opportunity to explain how they reach their conclusions and talk about flaws in logic- let them make mistakes and discover them for themselves- If the Gospel is true it will survive critical analysis.
@junkwar20019 жыл бұрын
+phinch1234 "If the Gospel is true it will survive critical analysis." Hmm....The Old Testament has been used by the Jewish people for couple of thousands of years. The New Testament started about almost years old. Over the years, many highly educated and intelligent people, many of them are scientists, criticized the Gospel. Many of them ended became a believer. I think the Gospel has been proven already!
@thebumblebeemovie3514 Жыл бұрын
I think it’s important to teach kids the gospel and your perspectives on it, but teaching them the WHY is important and teaching them how to research and critically think about the information given is necessary in learning to be independent. Truth will stand no matter what anyone else tries to shape it as, critical thinking and research helps find the truth. If the gospel is true, then with enough research and critical analysis, the children can strengthen their faith in the gospel by doing that. The definition of indoctrination is teaching someone something without teaching them the “why” or any supporting evidence behind it. Teaching the gospel with the evidence supporting it is good because then the children can learn the “why” behind their new found beliefs.

For all the video, books, “mission trips” this guy goes on I have never once heard the gospel from him. Do you know why? Because he’s not saved and he’s making merchandise of you. Acts 16:30-31. Sirs, what must I do to be saved. And they answered unto him, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.
@ksscott9205 жыл бұрын
So you're saying he doesn't believe in Jesus?
@West445 жыл бұрын
I am not defending this man, I am simply defending the bible and possibly through the grace of the Lord saving your soul; because you seem to be deceived through your lack of persistence in scripture. DO NOT leave your salvation to what someone tells you or simply one or two bible verses. You must go on and not take scripture out of context to fit your own agenda. Now I ask, will you read past verse two? Because it is quite clear simply saying a prayer/believing does not save you; there is action involved. For example: Acts 2:38 King James Version (KJV) 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. YOU MUST TURN FROM YOUR SIN! STUDY THE SCRIPTIRE TO SHOW YOURSELVES APPROVED BEFORE GOD PEOPLE! Acts 16:30-34 King James Version (KJV) 30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. 32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. 33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway. 34 And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

Everyone is being indoctrinated with something. We rather "indoctrinate our children in the way of the truth the life and the way " than indoctrinate them in the way of evil and self destruction.
