@@cedrichachez8579 it used to be state by state but I think the federal government pushes states to make it law by withholding federal support if they don't enact certain laws. Im in Colorado, seat belts required but not motorcycle helmets. Also Cell phone use while driving laws are state by state. We can use phone hands free or not just can't text (everyone apparently still does though) I'm only a state away from Utah but I'm not familiar with there state laws. When you cross into a state they have a big welcome to ? State and most often have signs indicating seat belt, motorcycle helmet and cell phone use requirements in that state. Most the other laws are identical. The US is kinda like Europe, each state is almost like a different country making there own laws and requirements as long as they fall within the US constitution. Some states interpret the constitution incorrectly though but I don't want to turn this to political.

More excellence from the excellent MORR crew. "Dying of Humid" So right Lizzy. Called "Heat prostration or exhaustion." Heat stroke is not enough water to cool, Heat prostration is plenty of water that can't evaporate fast enough to cool our bodies. Heat stroke has many warning signs, heat prostration has few and sometimes none. we just drop dead. I'm alive after heat prostration because my children had watched movies and cartoons where someone threw water or beer on someone's head who did not respond. I fell with my head next to a pitcher of ice water. I lost total short-term memory for months and was not able to drive because I look left, at an intersection and couldn't remember if I'd looked right, looked right and could remember if I'd looked left. It took a 18 months before I drove again. Lasting short-term memory issues and sleep issues for almost 25 years now. Don't do it. Especially Trevor running. Let your sweat protect. Shirt wet, slow down.

That “dying of humid” part is called the wet bulb temperature. Here most of the time the weather is given as temperature and “feels like”, because these days with rising humidity the human body perceives the temperature much hotter because your sweat can’t evaporate in humid conditions.

It's a lot harder to cool down in humid conditions you're right, so that can be perceived as it being hot out. What makes the actual air feel hot on the skin is the fact that water conducts heat a lot better than air. What you feel as hot or cold on your skin is your translation of heat entering or leaving your body. Dry air is rather insulating. You can sit in a sauna at 70C for a couple of minutes quite comfortably but you can't touch water at 70C, it will instantly burn you.

Never experienced that kind heat and hope never have to either. However living in Scandinavia it can get chilly during winter. -27°C = -17°F is the coldest but not worst. -16°C = 3°F when very windy was far worse! And yet nothing compared to northern Scandinavia as far as degrees, but add our southern wind. So a bit like your humidity and temps, just reversed!

"We're dying of humid." Man try my part of Michigan. This summer there were a dozen days when it was 95° F (36° C) and the humidity was 100% ! This is often the case throughout Florida and the rest of the south. Those southerners laugh at my "dozen", since they get 100 days. But Hurricane's 109° F (43° C) beats us all. That *is* hot. Can't imagine feeling sorry for them, as they can move elsewhere any time they want. Remember 165,000 people moved into that valley in the last 60 years, and so it *is* possible to move out if you do not like the climate.
