I believe I'd think twice before venturing off-road in a place called Tombstone Springs. "Just turn left left at Graveyard Gulch and then go about two miles past Rotting Corpse Lake and you'll cross Death Sentence Hollow. If that has too many vultures and rabid coyotes hanging around, you can always try For-God's-Sake-Turn-Around-Before-You Die Mesa."

I pulled over today on a busy interstate to help a broken down farmer with his trailer. Hundreds of cars passed not helping. I used a ratchet strap and luckily got the job done. But unfortunately the strap is ruined. I thought of Matt with Yankum ropes, I will be investing into one soon. It’s a must!

What I don't understand is why a TRUCK would not automatically turn off that crap when it is put into 4WD. If I'm in 4WD, then I want all four wheels to drive! In what situation is it better for a truck that is losing traction to just shutdown and not go?
@chase9119
@chase9119 2 жыл бұрын
This has put me in 'trying' situations many of time. 2013 f150 - you can turn off traction control, do the 5-10 second turn off turn off Advance trac. (real convenient to stop when you need momentum....) This will get you going straight forward and allow you to control the wheel spin, but any sway to either side it thinks you are stupid and pops it back on. Sad you have to pull a fuse to tell the computer to shut up and take it...

You guys are super lucky to have gotten that started. I have a 2016 2500 Cummins and had an issue where it wouldn't start at all because it had a dead cell in the battery (even though voltage was good with charging and attempting to jump). No matter how much I tried to charge it, it just wouldn't try and crank with the push button. Had to get it towed to the dealer because I figured something bad had happened electronically and it was still under warranty at the time. Never would have expected a single dead cell to cause that. Well $500+ freakin bucks later at the dealer, I had 2 new fresh new batteries. Very frustrating! Too much technology in these new things!!

I have absolutely no use for traction control. Had it on an Avalanche. It sucked.

It's easy to turn off on the Colorado. You just have to hold the button down for maybe 15 seconds. He should have done that long before he got into that spot. I'll bet he reads the manual to find out how to do that when he gets home.

@@genesnipes the Colorado just plan sucks for doing anything in the mud or sand. Even if you had the traction control turned off it still wouldn't be fully turned off unless you put it in 4 low

@@jamesarendse9739 CRVs and RAV4's are poseurs when it comes to anything rougher than a gravel or hard packed dirt road. Even the new TRD Rav4 is useless for that. They're soccer mom mall crawlers. Getting rid of mine for a 4Runner or a Taco when this supply chain madness is over.

They “have” air. 2-20, 4-40 and many different possibilities! That’s 2 windows 🪟 down 20 MPH, 4 windows 🪟 down 40 MPH and so on. Most of my clunkers were of the 2-40 type.

So serious question, when are you going to get hobby grade remote control versions of the banana and morrvaie in your store. When I’m kidding with my rc vehicles would be awesome to have those to get them out. And mini recovery ropes too!
