Yeah man any time I'm throwing a topwater bait, jerkbait, or spinner bait the soft jerkbait has always been my go to follow up bait and recently Ive had good luck with a swimbait rigged with a belly weighted hook. I couldn't tell you how many times that's saved my day and was the difference between going home with empty pockets or a check. Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!

Just thought I'd thank you and Jonny for your contribution with the tush & hover rig. Before, I'd have to prepare the hooks beforehand lead wire and super glue. Now I just reach for your weighted hooks. Sure wish this system was around thirty years ago!

Great video, love your choice of follow up baits, I seem to have good luck with a wacky worm, if Im fishing a little deeper I will use a neko rig to get it to them a little faster.

Marlin trollers often drag teasers or a lure for calling up fish and they switch to a different bait for actually hooking the fish. It's sort of like a follow up bait for missed hits, but the misses are intentional. My fishin' buddies and I are planning on being at the kayak launch at 5:30 to go to a place that will be perfect for trying the Hover Rig. It's the mouth of a river by Langley AFB where the river dumps into the Chesapeake. You can see lots of bottom contour changes and patches of grass. The Salt Strong map says it's very good. So we'll see what your rigs do with flounder, trout, redfish and whatever else. And I'll let you know. I have Instagram but never used it. I can post pics for you if I catch anything so you can use the pics for ads or whatever. I want you to be successful and also to know if your stuff works everywhere.

That's a good topic. I have never been able to have success with a follow-up bait after a topwater strike. Maybe I will try the flu for that. Now following up a moving date is a different story. I've been able to entice them to bite a Ned rig

Very good video. Interesting topic. I like your choice of baits. A tube can be a good follow-up choice for many baits. The spiral fall triggers the bite. That is if the fish is still around.

What size and model of jerk shads are right for a 1/8 oz Hover Rig? It doesn't matter about fresh or saltwater, a jerk shad is a jerk shad. I want some that hide in the bait correctly. I can turn them into saltwater lures with scents. Bass and redfish or flounder eat the same size food.

I always have a fluke tied on during topwater season! Even my boy at 9 knows we always follow up when we get a missed strike. He usually gets them when I fishing a frog/topwater and one misses
