Good video Matt, my friend and I were lamenting the loss of the wooden/aluminium cases of old due to the substandard protection of the new soft cases. Food for thought, cheers

Indeed some of the older cases were nice, but other almost gave a false sense of protection. The super thin plywood covered in faux leather cases could easily be kicked through or collapse if stood upon. Still, more protection than cloth!

Thanks! I don’t have any spare cases to give away… heck, I don’t have enough cases for all my pipes! I’m personally a hard case guy. Any semi soft sided case can be okay, but needs to be thought of more like a gig bag than a case.

@@MattWillisBagpiper Just one more question, do you know if the 1510 will fit in the overhead of an Air Arans jet. It's usually a smaller aircraft(Dublin to Glasgow) and from past experience there's not as much room. Very good job with the video, lots of useful information. Thank you

Most likely no for any small commuter plane... That said, they tend to treat the luggage WAY better than the jumbo jets.

great video, you should check out the Apache 5800 case. you can find them well under 100$ you can find them at harbor freight

Good review! You should check and see if Nanuk has an equivalent case! They are better than pelican in my opinion, and look nicer too!

Nanuk does indeed make great cases. Just haven't had a chance to review one. I believe there carry-on case is the 935

Great (and hard to answer!) question! Smallpipes are more delicate than highland pipes and yet their awkward shape makes finding a case difficult. Let me ask some of my smallpiper friends and get back with you. Cheers!

I have alot 9f pelicans and condition 1 ,I like features on both, the condition1 has better latches the pelican have better handle grips and stainless sleeves over the tea lock holes,condition1 wheel are better,personally the kindle texture on condition1 is nice where pelican is smooth finish, the pelican does have better pick pluck foam ,both Ametican made
