But Ovela, just a few reminders, Kamusta = Ka/mus/TA Kayo = Ka/YO Mabuhay = Ma/BU/hay The capital letters TA in kamusta, YO in kayo, and BU in mabuhay indicate that the stress must take place on it for you to sound more Filipino. Your "Ako po si Ovela" is on point! Hehe

Honestly, whenever I watch Idol Philippines auditions now, especially the interactions of the judges on the show, I always had this thought of how would Ovela react to it. I really hope he'll continue reacting to those especially now that the game is getting into it. Also, he really feels like the 5th judge of the show, for me. He's honest, adaptive, interactive and really technically well-versed. Good job "po"! 😁

In PH we say SIMPLE not because of its literal meaning but as a form of bragging almost used as a colloquial term. Its used, not only in singing, but also sports, cooking, acting and beauty pageants. When a person strived hard for something and nailed it, we'll say: "Its simple!" Example: Interviewer: How did you win the gold medal? Athletes: Its very simple... etc etc etc... Like we all know that they've trained hard for it and put sweat and effort, yet, we still used the word simple. Same as to the judges, saying "its simple" as a comment, it means that they know that you have all the rights to brag and its really a very positive comment in the ears of PH people. Its a PH humor and we get that. Thank you for this RV

Wow I've been waiting for your reaction to him, he's so swabe, as usual ur as fast as light in reacting 😄 At the beginning he says that at a young age he already feels like a woman and what he was doing was a norm, but when the teacher and relatives started repremanding him for his unusual behavior for a boy he started being confused coz as a child he was innocent about the differences between what the girl and boy should only behave plus the fact that his father is so masculine and against to him being gay. Later in life his parents separated, so he stayed with his mom, ang promised his mom that even when he's a woman inside, he is manly enough to be with her and will never leave her unlike the other men in her life

I think what he's trying to say at the beginning is that everything he thought was okay turned out to be outside of the norm? The struggle came when he started schooling. I think he said it's something he can't understand why is he treated differently or that he has to act differently from what he was used to, like he was not accepted for who he was. And as a young boy, he was compelled to just follow what his school and family asked him to do. Although he knew in himself that he's different. Then, his parents separated. He said, "although he's a woman in heart", he wants to be the man that stood for his mom.

@@reynic5475 I Think for her its easy cuz she is a Soprano so usually its easy and the buwan part it's hard because she's fighting with her nodules and acid reflux that's why she sang it cuz her AR is there but if the AR is not there its like a piece of cake for her.... and I believe it depends on what type of vocal range you have in order to sing it easily if its not that high, well you gotta have techniques

When the judges say the performance was " very simple". What they mean is that the singer made it "look easy" even though the performance was very technical and difficult to execute as perceived by listeners.

You're right, he was basically talking about his gender preference and how people around him find it wrong especially his dad, who is very manly. He was not accepted by his closest kin, except for his mom. And it seems like guys always leave his mom, (his dad and mom must have separated)... That's why he said, he wants to be the only man loyal in his mom's life (even if he is a woman in heart), who will stay by his mom side always. You got the gist of it. 'VERY SIMLE' is Vice & Regine's expression for an amazing performance. Meaning, the song is hard to sing but the contestant just SIMPLY sang it effortlessly! So, expect that expression from them for the rest of the competition.

Ovela : English Translation here Moira: We don't know if she was tired, or sleepy, or no energy maybe, at all. I was expecting her to show fun because she was the artist for this new millenials. Haha James: He may not have the look of a qualified judge - but he did meet the standards. His comments was very authentic, real, and direct to the point . Vice - was my favorite judge here, respect with the Queen Regine. He was way entertaining yet he remains real. Maybe because he had judge so many competitions, and thats how he bossom as an artist- from being a judge of different TV SHOWs. Regine- She knows singing. She had a lot to brag about, yet she was humble. I could say , she was not really showing much of her character (I dont know) , cause I couldn't say she was playing safe, but hopefully she can talk more (because she had the right and power above them). Hi :) IMO, Regine was not playing safe, based on her other comments to other hopefuls. Then again, it is your opinion as well. But I've heard her comment negatively and, based on previews, there'll be more negative comments from her. I'm just curious why Moira came off to you as bored or boring here. She was obviously delighted. Unless your comment is your opinion about her whole performance as a judge so far. She does tend to be really reserved. It's her personality so maybe it would be fake if she just suddenly changed that. I guess the problem lies on who chose the panel in the first place. Anyhoo, Vice more than makes up for everyone.

PERIOD!" 😁 During the introduction,he was actually talking about the stigma and struggles he experienced growing up when he first realized he's gay. He said his classmates,teachers, and friends have somehow forced himself to tell everyone that he's a man even though he knows deep inside he's feminine. It was especially difficult to admit it to his dad because he was the brusque, man's man, type of dad. I agree, he's one of he strongest contenders, so far. The boy was talking about not really growing up feeling like a boy. Until he started going to school, he never knew the supposed difference between a boy and a girl (kinds of toys, colors, those sorts of things). His very manly dad was the most against his being gay (as is the usual). Matty said that even if he's gay, he wants to be the man who'll take care of his mom because men always left her. He wants her to feel that there's a man who is capable of loving her...Don't worry about the use of he/she unless he specifies it (he even still calls himself a man). Sometime ago, Vice himself explained the differences among the various gay categories that have come up and why he is okay to be called a he rather than a she. I don't blame you for not really knowing. It can get confusing. The most important thing is to give everyone respect.

Matty's story was that he didn't like how people say "Guys should do this." or "Girls should do that." When he was in grade school, he was reprimanded for acting in very odd ways or having girlish toys. He was confused because he thought that what he's doing was normal. People started asking if he was gay, but he answered that he was a man. Those words hurt him when he felt like a woman inside. In 2010, his parents were separated. The idea of his dad separating wasn't uncommon for him. He thought that his dad was his safe space at the house, but he didn't have the privilege. Even his family didn't like the idea of being gay, especially his dad since he was very masculine. Growing up, he was detached from his dad. He wasn't a daddy's boy, but was a mommy's girl. He wanted to give back to his mom by auditioning because she gave up her dreams for him and his siblings. He was the only man that was loyal to his mother. With all of the men his mother had experienced being with in her life, she was always left behind. Even though he is gay, he wants to be the manliest person for his mother. He was the first man, even though he was a woman at heart, who was manly enough to stay with his mother for her to prove that she is loved by a man.
