With our darkness there would be no light..makes you appreciate the good times and connections with other ppl..I know I've been down in my van, broke in snow,zero degrees..I e virtually cut most out of my life, I get no texts hardly, no one calls me..I've changed what I value..I'm not into the superficial,, after working in social work, mental health, with addicts, homeless, seen suicides..one thing I learned is cherish a few connections..I've learned a lot about me..therapy, relationships..my values are solid..seem a lot of tragedy..ppl doing harm to themselves, very judgemental ppl, I'm not judgemental it leaves me with a clear hard drive..we all want the same things in this life, peace, happiness.. tomorrow is a new day..an attitude of gratitude everyday gets me to smile just from my thoughts...not always yet I know it's there..ty Matty for real share Dave

Set yourself some future goals, plan to explore someplace different. I have found peace in Utah, in particular the Fishlake & Manti-LaSal National Forests. The summer months of May thru October are the best. Lot’s of locations for free camping, beautiful lakes, meadows, alpine peaks and clean air & clean water. It will be a few months yet but it will help you get your head on straight.

Hope you get out of your funk soon. I foresee a small dog in your future, just from your comments about how much you enjoy Winston. Find you a good shelter and you'll find that dog choosing you very quickly! Once you get past all of these small medical issues, life will feel better. That irregular EKG could just be like the small downward blip on my EKG that sends the techs running for the doctor. For me, that's normal 😊. Sending good vibes, positive thoughts and prayers your way. Oh, and sometimes people are just plain weird. Trust me, it is not you!

I'm sure the illness made your energy low. I think maybe you need to find a new place to explore or a new purposeful endeavor. I still hope your heart is doing well. Getting older sucks. Do you like being a single guy? I like having atonamy over my life and decision, but sometimes I feel lonely for connection. Of course, I don't want a relationship just to have one. I would rather be alone with no drama. Life goes on, though, and we can feel blessed with good friends and family. I'm glad you're still sharing aspects you're life with us. Thank you Matty.

I have been feeling the same way for a while now. I have found being in nature heals my soul. I live a minimalistic lifestyle. I tell myself it's all about collecting smiles, moments, and experiences. I do believe me, it's better to have a partner, friend, company, etc. to spend time with. Talking about moments and experiences together for me is heartwarming. I realized a long time I'm the only one to make myself happy. If I was there, we would get on our ebikes and explore the area.

While I can only speak for myself my recent health issues have made me face my own mortality and I am not going to lie...it has been challenging. We are getting snow no in SW Ohio, Huber Heights. I'm struggling with arthritis and sciatica pain and waiting for approval at a "consultation" to get a Cortisone shot. I'm 72 and last year had to cancel my Y membership because I have trouble walking.

My arthritis pain and mobility is much better. Because I cut my sugar in half and only eat sourdough bread and an egg or a gluten-free pancake with no syrup in the am. Plus, more protein. You will feel great with a cortisone shot, but it can make things worse down the road. I hope you can go swimming after your shots that also helps.

I've been in a funk all January but now that Spring is creeping in slowly and the days are getting longer I think the moods will improve. I've been doing all those things, like reorganizing, to feel accomplishment which has been helpful to keep my spirits up. Hang in there - whenever there is a swing down there is always a swing up 🤗

My parents are part time RV people. My dad ordered Starlink to be delivered in MX at a mailbox shop like they have here. He paid $500 usd. He got a prepaid Wells Fargo bank card here and brought it there to setup the Starlink. He loads $70 a month on it for the service. His plan allows him to use it all over North America. If his payment gets hacked, it’s okay because the prepaid card will decline any charges if there is no money loaded on to it. He didn’t want his bank card linked to anything like that. I’m surprised more people don’t do that. If you’re afraid to cross the border or have a nice vehicle, just park on the U.S. and walk across the street. Once you activate Starlink just put it in your backpack and walk back. If you get stopped, tell them you don’t know how well your internet service for your phone is so you brought your Starlink. LoL. 🤷🏻‍♀️ If you’re camping anywhere near a big RV and you see a WiFi name of LawnGnome, that my dad!!!😂🎉

Gratitude brings happiness. Every time I was happy it was because I was grateful for something. When the gratitude left, so did happiness, and I would chase after something else. Some external thing was supposed to bring it back. When we isolate from others it can put us with bad company, (ourselves). It is good to be able to be alone and comfortable, but it often doesn't work out that way.
