His technical midichlorian count wasnt decreased as midichlorian count is based on amount of midichlorians per cell, however if you nearly halve your body mass i assume your control over the force is going to be weakened since there is less total midichlorians in your whole body.

Tbh, I don’t think anything short of the entire Jedi order could have taken Sidious. I’m pretty sure the entire thing with Windu was a ploy and he was never in any danger, just setting the pieces before Anakin arrived. They would have to go after him like they did Exar Kun and the Jedi order is nowhere near the size it was back then. I’m really not even sure if Yoda stood as much of a chance as it seemed. Sidious seemed to be enjoying it, toying with him, gorging himself on Yodas dread and his failures.

I absolutely love this edit, Anakin's story was so brutal and emotional. I blame not only sidious but the entire Jedi council for what happened. Certain people could feel that something bad was going to happen but no one really knew. Even Yoda knew something was up but he couldn't pinpoint it, to me he was a terrible but wise leader. Sidious knew the council was horribly flawed and completely outdated, they played themselves and all he had to do was play the waiting game. I wonder how different the story would have been if Qui-Gon lived. Anakin needed a caring father, not a competitive brother.

Wanting to change and having the willpower to do so are very different things. In the light of his instincts and emotions he was completely weak. Ruled by them. The jedi counsel had the safeguards they had in place specifically for this reason. So people filled with emotion like anakin and mace could be kept in check. It wasn't a perfect system but it was also the only way to ensure stability. And the second anakin strayed he became unhinged.

Maul might be the deepest and most intricate character in all of star wars. Elaborate backstory with huge character development. No one has gone through more physical and mental torture than he has. Tragic ending to top it all off. And he only appears in ONE movie besides like 15 seconds in solo. Even though hes supposed to be a bad guy i find myself rooting for him many times throughout the movies and shows. I love that hes imperfect and at the same time a calculating, opportunistic villain who somehow always finds a way to survive, until he finally gets put out of his misery. He deserves his own series or movie
