Isn't Ghamidi a combination of Martin Luther and Ataturk. Protestant deformation and Turkish dictatorship are not good models.

Ask Allama Iqbal. "The truth is that among the Mulsim nations of today, Turkey alone has shaken off its dogmatic slumber and attained to self-consciousness. She alone has claimed her right of intellectual freedom; she alone has passed from the ideal to the real_a transition which entails keen intellectual and moral struggle. To her the growing complexities of a mobile and broadening life are sure to bring new situations suggesting new points of view and necessitating fresh interpretations of principles which are only of an academic interest to a people who have never experienced the joy of spiritual expansion". [Ref: Ibid. p. 128.] "If the renaissance of Islam is a fact, and I believe it is fact, we too one day, like the Turks, will have to re-evaluate our intellectual inheritance..." [Ibid. p. 121.] "qbal informs us that we should have ijtihad or reinterpretation on the lines of legislation in Turkey where: “Religious and political thought has been reinforced and broadened by modern philosophical ideas and is grounded on modern sociological concepts”. [Ref: Reconstruction, op. cit., p. 121.] That Ijtihad, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk brought. “The religious doctors of Islam in Egypt and India, as far as I know, have not yet expressed themselves on this point. Personally, I find the Turkish view is perfectly sound.” [From Reconstruction] “The republican form of government is not only thoroughly consistent with the spirit of Islam, but has also become a necessity in view of the new forces that were set free in the world of Islam.” “Such is the attitude of the modern Turk, inspired as he is by the realities of experience, and not by the scholastic reasoning of jurists who lived and thought under different conditions of life. To my mind these arguments, if rightly appreciated, indicate the birth of an International ideal, which forming the very essence of Islam, has been hitherto overshadowed or rather displaced by Arabian Imperialism of the earlier centuries in Islam.” He supported the adoption of the Turkish language as a medium of prayer and the Quran by the Young Turks. He wrote: "If the aim of religion is the spiritualisation of the heart, then it must penetrate the soul of man, and it can best penetrate the inner man . . . We find that when Muhammad Ibn Tumart-the Mahdi of Muslim Spain-who was Berber by nationality, came to power and established the pontifi cal rule of the Muwahhidun, he ordered for the sake of the illiterate Berbers that the Quran should be translated and read in the Berber language and that the call to prayer should be given in Berber". Now lets ask Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah: After death of Ataturk,Quaid-i-Azam, as President of AIML, issued a directive on 11 November 1938 to all the branches of the Muslim League in the whole of Indo-Pak subcontinent to observe Friday, 18 November as “Kemal Day”. In this connection following directive was issued: “I request provincial, District and Primary Muslim Leagues all over India to observe Friday the 16th of November as Kemal Day and hold public meetings to express deepest feeling of sorrow and sympathy of Musalmans of India in the irreparable loss that the Turkish Nation has suffered in the passing away of one of the greatest sons of Islam and a world figure and the saviour and maker of Modern Turkey Kemal Ataturk“. During a press interview Quaid-i-Azam Jinnah thus praised the services of Mustafa Kemal: “He was the greatest Muslaman in the modern Islamic World and I am sure that the entire Musalman world will deeply mourn his passing away. It is impossible to express adequately in a press interview one’s appreciation of his remarkable and varied services, as the builder and the maker of Modern Turkey and an example to the rest of the world, especially to the Musalman States in the Far East. The remarkable way in which he rescued and built up his people against all odds, has no parallel in the history of the world. He must have derived the greatest sense of satisfaction that he fully accomplished his mission during his life-time and left his people and his country consolidated, united and a powerful nation. In him, not only the Musalmans but the whole world have lost one of the greatest men that ever lived“. Quaid's daughter started calling him 'Grey wolf' because he read biography on Ataturk named 'grey wolf' and found a lot similarities within himself, and used to talk about Ataturk all the time. This was just some knowledge I wanted to share. Please do Share with others.Ataturk was not against Islam, his own wife wore hijab, he was a pious but progressive Muslim with a more liberal interpertation of Quran of his own, whoever he loved Quran and established Diyanet, department of religious affairs and prepared a scientific tafsir of Quran. Yet so called ulema today, call him all sorts of stuff while they know not a thing but Turkish history. Modern Turkey today is what Quaid-e-Azam & Allama Iqbal wanted Pakistan to be.Based on Quran in Islam. "The Quran is the general code for the Muslims, a religious, social, civil, commercial, military, judicial, criminal and penal code. It regulates every thing, from the ceremonies of religion to those of daily life, from the salvation of the soul to the health of the body, from the rights of all to those of each individual from morality to crime; from punishment here to that in the life to come, and our Holy Prophet Mohammad (Peace by upon Him) has enjoined on us that every Musalman should posses a copy of the Quran and be his own priest. Therefore, Islam is not merely confined to the spiritual tenets and doctrines or ritual and ceremonies. It is a complete code regulating the whole Muslim society, every department of life, collective and individual". ~Jinnah, Eid-ul-Fitar message (September 1945) "our Holy Prophet Mohammad (Peace by upon Him) has enjoined on us that every Musalman should posses a copy of the Quran and be his own priest". "The great majority of us are Muslims. We follow the teachings of the Prophet Mohammed (may peace be upon him). We are members of the brotherhood of Islam in which all are equal in rights, dignity and self-respect. Consequently, we have a special and a very deep sense of unity. But make no mistake: Pakistan is not a theocracy or anything like it." ~Broadcast to the people of Australia (19 February 1948)
