Povich and his wife, broadcaster Connie Chung, talk with correspondent Mo Rocca about their lives on- and off-camera.

35 years ago I met these two love birds at a dinner party in Boston. I was just a kid hired to wait at table. That night the hostess also asked me to cook, mix drinks and pass hor dourves. I over cooked the green beans. Something was said about the difficulties acquiring good help. Maury countered I’d be sufficient if I was triplets. 😂 Maury was charming and Connie was elegant. I remember that night like yesterday. So nice to see the love birds again.

What a wonderful love story to end with! I am also just 5’ Asian-American, who is married to a tall, 6’3” man, Caucasian Scottish descendant, for forty- five years this year. And all that time our love for each other have not faded, in fact, it is a much deeper kind of love. I like that they are still in love too. Current Affairs was the show back then. My goodness, they look great. I went to a trip with my son in his interview at a medical school in 2006. There was a luncheon given by the school. A stunning beautiful cardiology surgeon said that she wanted so much to be a Connie Chung when choosing a career and that dream never died even she became a successful surgeon.

Woooooooowwwww, I did not know Maury was 83!!! He still looks and sounds amazing, and he and Connie are truly LT couple goals!!! I don’t know about y’all, but I put him in the category of some of the best TV dads ever, except his dedication and emotions seemed authentic and unscripted. Maury, for me, was the Ward Cleaver, Mike Brady, Uncle Phil, and Carl Winslow, of reality TV all rolled into one. The way he encouraged and “fathered” many of his fatherless guests, was often life-changing for them, and tear-jerking for me. The update shows were my favorite! He will be truly missed.
