Hello did you ever used Dji GsPro i think it is only availible for ipad but it works like waypoints but it is better because you can pre plan your flight so you donot have too fly the path a first time and also you can make your cablecam as long as you want because you can use multiple batteries because it returns to where it has stopped. By doing so you can also do an awsome day to night hyperlapse when you overlap 2 hyperlapses. Hope i could help you advance your projects.

I must be doing something wrong. Did the first example, but in not getting a hyperlapse

Hi Kim, Litchi does not support the Mavic Air yet. But i believe this planned to be supported in the near future. Just a matter of DJI sharing the software code like they have for other models. I use Litchi on the Mavic Pro and hoping the Mavic Air support will be added soon.

This is not how to shoot time-lapse, but how to shoot in different capture modes. You NEVER talked about how to make it look like a true Time-lapse video by speeding up the frame rate or compressing time with video. But I understand it, your video doesn't explain that.
@billlothman6 жыл бұрын
Bruce Christianson did he ever address how to make it time lapse? Do you have to do that in post? Or can it be done in cam
@speedball101696 жыл бұрын
Best bet is to do the interval photo and then go to quicktime. Just make sure all images are jpeg or converts from DNG to jpeg. Once in quicktime go to File, Open Image Sequence, Select your 1st image and just play with the frame rate until you find something that's a relatively smooth video.
@valdastomkus23536 жыл бұрын
it's not software video, not about some sony vegas or premiere, so everything is good in video. Best time lapse goes from photos, not video, also all photos you should capture in raw.

Appreciate your video, but the thing I didn't understand in watching this is: You did time lapse in photo mode, I get that, but when shooting in video mode, it appears you simply shot a video, then sped it up in post. Hi Jeff have you found that 3 mph of movement gives the best speed up video? Just wondering as I did some tests this morning at 1 mph and it does not smooth out any minor wind disturbances. I am going to try other speeds as soon as the weather clears up. Just wondering if you tested various mph runs. I think I have to find the sweet spot for my drone to see what mph will smooth out any minor external disturbances. Thank you.
@JeffGreeneChannel6 жыл бұрын
Hi Jack, good question. I have not specifically tested different speeds for timelapse, only found that slower is better. The reason i use Tripod mode for this purpose is 1-for the slow speed, but 2-because i can go full throttle in Tripod in any direction, and then just worry about the left stick. Any slight variation in speed(shaky fingers/hand/right stick) will mess up the timelapse. So if i just go full throttle (in Tripod mode), the result is much smoother in the end.

I think only technique 2 produce true time lapse movie, others are just fast forward mode, unless you speed up the movies more and painstakingly process the movies so that frame freezes between key frames.
@JeffGreeneChannel6 жыл бұрын
Dictionary Definition of time-lapse : of, relating to, or constituting a motion picture made so that when projected a slow action (such as the opening of a flower bud) appears to be speeded up.🤔 hmmm, you may be right.....or it may be that the definition of what is a "slow action" is debatable?
@JePeVePe6 жыл бұрын
in a sense, movie is also timelapse... only 25 or 30fps :) The biggest drawback of flying a drone for 'real' timelapse, is that it moves in the air, while most timelapses are shot on a tripod. In a sense timelapse with drone, especially when moving, is called hyperlapse, where you get the same 'shakiness', so... if you want to remove that 'move' of the drone, look for techniques they use, like warp stabilisation. Biggest reason for using 'photo' timelapse, is that your resolution is going to be much higher, and, if shooting RAW, you have way more control over the endresult (and you can zoom in if you want).
@jackbisson92266 жыл бұрын
But Jeff knows why you are best to use speed up video when using a DJI drone. Try taking interval shots with your DJI drone just sitting on a table. You will look at the pictures taken when stitched an be amazed at how awful the gimbal works with Interval pictures. They jump around just sitting on a table, so you have to learn a new techniques perfected by Rufus Blackwell where he takes 4k video and breaks up the video into 2 second intervals and frame blends each one of those 2 second intervals to represent a single frame. This will produce the Blur every good time lapse creator searches for. Until DJI creates a gimbal that produces solid aligned pictures as a baseline when just sitting on a table, you are pretty much out of luck creating a time lapse with their drones. I have a P4P and Inspire 2 with X5S and they do the have the same problem when taking Interval pictures just sitting on a table. Jeff produced some pretty good time lapses here with speed up video. When you get a Chance lookup Rufus Blackwell and you will be amazed with the Time Warp Lapses he creates. Warp stabilizer has its limits when you are working with a terrible baseline when just sitting on a table. Give it a try and test it just sitting there on a table. Good luck with your time lapse pursuits.
