Thanks for this Russ. Nice timing. Summer has arrived in the U.K. so I’ve been out flying the MP & will be trying the different flight modes. I’ve managed to use “follow me” and “fly around” so far. Tap fly is next, and thanks to your superb tutorial I will know what to expect and how to control it. Many thanks. Brian

👍 for reading manuals! I haven’t used Tap Fly yet, but this makes me super curious. I’m taking a big trip to Iceland/Switzerland next month and want to get as much beautiful footage as possible. This may be a huge help.

This was... Brilliant. I think I've just about got my yaw and gimbal settings right, so this is great timing. I'm not too sure I'm learning and practicing all this in the best of places but I'm motivated by the beauty of film and photos so this morning my little mavic that I call fly1 Hi1, bit like R2 D2😂 went focusing on swans in the middle of a very big lake and it looked stunning but what was even better was over the river and I was high, I didn't disturb them, had them in shot when they, two of them, decided to take off and fly. The bad news, that was in the afternoon, when the wind had got up, and I forgot to bring both my sd cards, I flew largely to test out some even slower settings which seemed good. Still, they'll be other opportunities. Saturday I'm off to a steam punk weekend at a steam railway line. The bad news here is, I discovered this evening huge areas are now temporary no fly zones for low level fly pasts at a number of airshows, then rain in the afternoon. Always something!!

Thanks for the tutorial on TapFly for both drones; very informative! Seem like a must easier way of getting some great cinematic shots and YES, more comparison reviews and testing; please!

Nice comparison video. Sometimes I like to be reminded how useful Intelligent Flight modes can be. I don't own the Mavic air so the comparison is useful. I think the reason the Mavic Pro lacks the other modes of tap fly is because it doesn't have rear obstacle avoidance sensors. The Phantom 4 Pro has more options in intelligent flight modes than mavic pro also.

I use tap fly often so I can worry about the camera not the drone piloting. My favorite mode is the coordinate mode because it is the only mode where you don’t need to worry about the drone flying far away while you’re focused on photography. This is especially true when you’re at a lower altitude and there may be obstacles that you would like to have the drone avoid by stopping well before hitting them.

I have a P3 adv but am considering buying either Mavic pro or air as well for travelling easier, I think this may have swung it toward the Air. Thanks. Subbed.

It appears Course Lock on the Mavic Pro works the same as TapFly's Free mode on the Mavic Air.

As always a great tutorial video many thanks. Just to note, the green H means home location. Though the line also shows the horizon as you said. Did you know about the gimbal feature where if you press and hold on your screen you can control the gimbal movement ? Keep up the great work.

Paul Crouch Thanks! Yes I realized that afterwards, and no I didn't know about the gimbal! Thanks!

Great video as always! How in the world are you getting 2.7K? I would love to get this or 4K on my MA but, I can't find the process of doing this for the Intelligent modes. Thanks again for great video. Ra 😋👍

I have never used the Tap Fly features and now hopeful that a software update will feature this sub-menu. I always enjoy your videos and do pick up a few idea's. I will have to use Tap Fly. BTW, is that UA sweatshirt-The University of Alabama-Roll Tide!

Thanks for the tutorial. I will have to use this feature! Can I use the "free" with the mavic pro? Any similar fly mode for the mavic, so it could fly in one direction itself then with me using the yaw and gimbal?
@51Drones6 жыл бұрын
Nope. But I anticipate that a future update might include that feature for the Pro.

Gday Russ mi-ol-mate, I’m am still learning how to pilot the mighty Mavic and want to be good at flying in Atti mode as well as normal mode, I must admit I’m a bit hesitant to use any of the “intelligent” flight modes, I guess it’s a trust thing & being in control. I will slowly integrate these fancy flights in the near future. Hey Russ my man can you put me down on the list for one of your “51 Drones - Caps” and if you get enough of us devotees to make the order, may I have the darker colour one please. Hey maybe you could run a competition for a cap or two, I would write letters, send postcards and anything else to win one of your caps. Anyway as always a big fat Gday to all yoos fellow drones from all around the world. Cheers Spike Western Australia 🇦🇺👍🏻

@51Drones6 жыл бұрын
In the camera settings. Click on the 3 little dots in the upper right, then click on the far right icon. About 3/4 of the way down, there is an option to choose which center point icon you would like.

Do you have any information regarding mavic pro with those four fly modes? Will they get added, or is it the hardware that stops it?
