Little work in progress peek at the new Stone Desert Biome. This is the first pass at the new oasis with all new scans and highres Nanite foliage assets. More coming soon... Desert Oasis always has been one of my favorite landscapes. I see some changes. I also notice Wind audio but no Wind animations, So I have a good idea where this is headed! Looking Good!

you should try _"otherworldy"_ landscapes ... because realistic-only stuff is limiting your customer pool by quite a lot. - marsh landscape - dagobah-like landscape - hellish landscape - asteroid landscape etc ..

I love this! Hoping that you guys tackle the other part of the desert. Sand Dunes!! I have been trying to do them properly for a long time. Again good stuff here!!

Beautiful, cant wait for this one! Out of interest - did you record the editor at runtime with something like OBS? I'm setting up gameplay recording in-engine (at runtime) for the first time and love the quality of your recordings.

In Unreal Engine 6, the trees will sway in the wind, and the flora and fauna will react accordingly. Additionally, the sand will be blown away and interact with the environment.

Does this have sand deformation with footsteps (or integrate with something that does provide that)? Also, having wind blowing bits of sand off the crests & wind-facing side of a sand dune would be amazing (the wind & footstep sounds made me think of that.) I’m just thinking about what might help give this that next level of realism (what’s here is great & I realize that might just be outside of what this is looking to provide as assets.) Seeing that in a game like Journey (among others) can add so much for immersion.

The movement looks like the cameraperson is making very fast and short steps that don't match the sound. I assume its a very large gerbil looking for food.

This will not run on an old laptop. You need a desktop PC with at leased a 3060Ti to play at medium settings in HD.

Dude, look out your window. Unless you live somewhere weirdly windy, most of the time the trees and such are hardly moving. As games get more realistic looking, game and plugin designers shouldn’t make it look like a tornado is rolling through just so you can feel like the terrain is “dynamic”. Unless there’s a storm, less is more. And in the desert biome like this, significant wind might mean a sandstorm.
