what a temperament which is need for the violinist. very rarely played by the leading soloists. But she is very powerful and musical. She plays like waterfalls and sometimes like volcano. Paganini is reborn again for the 21st century in feminine form.

Rule one of 'name the fiddler': if it's superb playing, but no character or individuality, the chances are it's Menuhin. The true 'greats' on can 'spot' in seconds.

Si riesce a capire fin da subito, quando all'inizio l'orchestra inizia a suonare, e lei che sente dentro di se la musica. Ad osservarla riesce già a suonare senza produrre alcun suono.. È uno spettacolo unico! Guardate poi quando inizia a suonare il concerto, lo stacco iniziale, il piglio che riesce a prendere, e come si trasforma riuscendo a compenetrare essa stessa dentro la sua arte, al punto forse di non accorgersi neppure di stare a suonare. Unica!

She plays so ferociously that the hairs come loose from her bow and she has to pull the dangling ones off every time she gets a moment's pause. I wonder how often she has to have her bow re-strung with fresh horsehair. Magnificent performance!
