The next part would connect all the dots together, and the entire storyline would close up together. Also, the thing was, Vlad was already using Max Payne to eliminate his competition, as he knew Max had the drive to end Punchinello. So Vlad just helps Max to benefit himself. PS. Using grenades to flush out the Trio was quite a smart move. Normally, people try shoot-dodging or using bullet time, but this is a different approach.

Correction: That's not a Government Agency, it's a Product Corporation called Aesir Corporation, The Killer Suits you saw are Corporate Security Mercs, Their Combat Lines are pretty similar to that of Arnold Schwarzenegger since they watched Terminator, Terminator Judgement Day, Commando and, In other words, the Killer Suits are basically Schwarzenegger Fanboys who are working for a Pharmacist Corporation, And have Skill (50-60% Accuracy as opposed to the Mobsters/Gangsters who have 30-40% Accuracy.) Also this Next sequence you do in the next Level is another Nightmare Sequence, but you got injected with an OD amount of Valkyr, so it's gonna be a lot more Ridiculous in the Nightmare.

Punchinello is quite bold, torching his own restaurant to attempt to kill Payne. His losses in that are a front to be rebuilt, but his gains are getting rid of Payne as well as that shipment with possibly insurance money to rebuild his laundering operation and front. That restaurant was more disposable than a simple grunt in Punchinello’s eyes and it shows.

Honestly Vlad in this game is a cool guy. Sure, he's technically using Max to eliminate his competition, but at the same time he's smart enough to know not to screw over someone as dangerous as Max

@@xscythe67 Max himself even correctly draws a bead on Vlad by stating he's a criminal, but one with morals and principles "which almost made him one of the good guys" - Technically Max himself is a criminal by undertaking an extrajudicial roaring rampage of revenge and stacking up a body count in the triple digits. In a world of black and grey morality, at least Max and Vlad still have a touch of light in them, unlike Horne, Punchinello, and Lupino who are unambiguously "bad guys"
