One reason I moved to conjugate was to incorporate ME, having used linear progression for a number of years. I had plateaued. I felt I needed more time under heavier weights and more time addressing specific sticking points. With linear progression I could get under a heavy load, probably with the strength to do the lift, but I just felt uncomfortable because I wasn’t under that heavy weight until the very end of the cycle. I also found that my ability to identify sticking points was limited because I only did competition style lifts. Using different main lift variations really helps to find the weak points and strengthen them. I will add that I think the dynamic effort days are a critical complement to the ME days. I think the DE workouts have helped me learn to strain longer, made me more explosive, and shortened my rest between sets.

People who say Max Effort doesn't work just think they're gonna come in and do a heavy single and neglect everything else then get better. I always say Max Effort isn't about the heavy weight necessarily, it's a diagnostic tool to identify weak points and improve those with supplemental lifts / accessories. Those are what are gonna get you bigger and stronger, not just doing heavy singles.

I've been doing conjugate for about 4 months now and although I can't say the dynamic day has helped me in terms of speed, but its definitely helped me focus on form which has helped my squat tremendously.

Dynamic effort works really well if you have access to things like bands, chains and weights releasers

Solid video, it’s easy to stray away from doing the core program for sure. I know in a time crunch I neglect the accessories or even the secondary movement after the main lift more often then I would like, this is a great reminder to finish strong.

brilliant!! I always consider meet day the cherry on top of ALL the accessories! little things done correctly over time results in BIG pr's..

I find it hard sometimes to really do a max effort day because I train alone. Outside of spotter bars I find myself limited but instead I do heavy 3s so I know if I’m going to hit that sticking point with the rep before

Anyone who says that max effort or dynamic effort does not work all you need to do is ask to see their training log for the past 6 weeks ;)
