Some people saying that Sadie Sink has proved her acting a lot, but she actually always had that acting range , the show just didn't give her the chance to show it in previous seasons. I mean...have you seen her performance in the "All too well" short film or "Fear street 1978" Movie. This girl has always been great at what she does but people only recognized her acting because of how popular stranger things is.

I disagree when they said that when El said that she was different that she was gaslighting Mike and/or that she's just not used to being bullied. I always interpret that scene as Mike doesn't understand WHY she's being bullied even though he has been bullied. Mike and the rest of the boys have been bullied for being nerds while El was bullied because she's "weird" and why is she "weird" because of her trauma and she grew up. She was just thrown into a normal environment when nothing about El and her past is normal. None of the other main kids know and they won't ever know/relate to her experiences because they are just that unique. Mike can pull a Lucas and unnerdify himself if he truly wanted to in order to not get bullied but El can't just un-traumatize herself.

Except that no one was asking/confused on ‘why’ El was being bullied, on Mike’s part because he didn’t _know_ beforehand and on Will’s part because he _does_ know, but there’s not much he can do except tell her things she doesn’t believe (that she did fine, or that her presentation wasn’t “that bad”). While there’s a chance bullies might switch to targeting him if he fully stood up for her himself, I’m not sure that’s worth featuring as a motive. Like, holding on to herself being “more different” just ostracizes herself from _letting_ anyone try to help in any capacity.

That last ten minutes,.... so brutal. I really felt like that it was the end for Max, I'm so glad that she made it. That song, Running Up The Hill, even though I grew up through the 80s, I never heard it before Stranger Things. I was never a fan of Kate Bush, because of that screeching 'Withering Heights' song she released in the 70s. But I am now a fan of 'Running Up The Hill', because of this episode. It is a really nice song.

I love this episode. The darkness and trauma is trying to swallow Max. But she's fighting. Her friends are the light in that darkness. And I appreciate Lucas so much. His message is essentially, "Even if we're not together, even if you don't want to date, I will always have your back as a friend. You can always talk to me." Everyone came together to help Max and save her. Sometimes people just need to know that you're there and that you support them. And the platonic bonds they all have are amazing. Speaking of platonic bonds, the romance vibes between Mike and Will keep going off the charts. Mike basically said, "Home isn't home if you're not there" to Will. And then he says their relationship is different from all of Mike's other best friends. And the romantic trope of, "Two characters bonding but constantly getting interrupted by other people when they're alone". The Duffer Bros really thought they could slip that under the radar.

El isn't gaslighting him. That's funny that you thought she even learned to manipulate people when she's the one getting manipulated all the time. LOL It's actually very normal that she craves validation (acceptance & love) because of how she was raised (by Papa), right? I put how I read the situation w/ El & Mike in your last episode reaction. So in short, I think El is right. She feels Mike loved El the Superhero w/ Superpowers. But right now, she's not that person. She's Jane. She's different from the coolest superhero he fell in love it (Notice how Mike said she's cool, she has superpowers while the bullies are normal, they are nobodies and El responded "except I'm not.") Mike is still stuck w/ El and cannot see her as who she currently is - Jane, a normal, weak, different...a nobody too. It makes sense that she leaves him a message that says she's going to be a superhero again. She just wanted to be loved again. But I'm thinking... do you think Mike truly loved her? If you love someone, you gotta love them through the highs & the lows right? El is already at her lowest as Jane. She lost her father, her powers/means to defend herself, she gets bullied & made fun of too. Mike should've been able to relate to that... but he didn't. He didn't even try to understand her. He was even mean to her that dinner...!!! That maddened me a little. Instead of showing support or understanding on how bad she must be already feeling, he added fire to it. But I understand most boys are just insensitive I guess.

here's the thing about Mike and El, she was right to call him out on not writing love back. let's be honest he's his father's son. think back to the last episode, he says "don't care what other people say they're nobodies! they're mouth breathers, you're a superhero!" he's literally forgetting she doesn't have powers. he's literally put her on such a pedestal and loves the idea of her, not her. to him she's this cool mysterious girlfriend of his that he doesn't deserve and she just needs support and someone to be there. from what we've seen their entire relationship has been oh El has cool powers and I get to make out with her. which for their age makes sense i don't blame him, but El needs so much more than that. she has TRAUMA and Mike has the emotional maturity of an idiot high school boy. calling it now Mike is going to grow up to be just like his father. El also has huge communication issues to be fair. she still out of his league tho
