It’s not simply a matter of saying “nothing” lifted him out, because that’s not something people can wrap their heads around. Someone/something has to be blamed, so Jason, _primed_ by panic around D&D (up to and including the ‘people can’t tell the difference between reality and the thing’ claim) is much more ready to believe Eddie is still to blame. The memory _is_ acknowledging him, in that he exists in it. He interacted with some of the other numbers in the previous episode, to call them out for giggling at El’s failure to move the light. And the police in the town were really being held up by Hop. While they’ve grown in his absence _a bit_ , and can handle the day-to-day shenanigans okay, this just _isn’t_ that.

In season 1, Hopper called his ex up and hung up after her heard her child in the background. So she moved on and got remarried and started a new family, which may make him feel that in that relationship he was the "curse".

11:08 In defense of the cops' actions, they didn't say Eddie was a suspect but simply a person of interest. After all, he was in the vicinity of two of the murders and they have yet been able to track him down, let alone talk to him to get his side of the story. It would be completely negligent if they didn't at least follow-up on that path of the investigation. 👮👮 11:58 What's wrong with these kids? Don't you mean where are the adults in this house?!!

Nah. There's NO excuse for the absolute incompetency of these cops. Yes, Eddie should be a person of interest, but Jason should be, as well. The first victim was his girlfriend and she was found in another guy's home, which means he has a clear motive, and his only "alibi" rests with a bunch of kids who were too drunk/stoned to be able to testify to their own whereabouts for the whole night, let alone his. The only ones who even saw Eddie at Rick's place were Jason and the victim (Andy was not back there with them) - who Jason was found holding in his arms, for god's sake. So, the only person who can be absolutely verified to be at any of the crime scenes and in the direct vicinity of a victim when the murder occurred is Jason. There is absolutely no excuse for them allowing him to run around freely creating lynch mobs and inciting witch hunts.

@@Aetheria60 Except they had already managed to interview him, not just once but after each murder. Meanwhile, Eddie remains MIA. For all they know, he might be a fourth victim. "Person of interest" is not the same as suspect, and can include witnesses and victims as well.

@@evilwelshman Which would be fine if that’s the way they presented it and if they had put a muzzle on Jason. The simple fact is they took the rich Christian boy’s word for everything, no matter how ridiculous, completely let him of the hook when he had no real alibi and plenty of motive, and allowed him to point the finger directly at the poor kid from the trailer park and incite lynch mobs to go after him and other kids. Clearly when Hopper left, he took the only brain cell with him.

@@Aetheria60 Except, they didn't. The cops _were_ incredulous when Jason started spouting how Eddie was a vessel for the Devil. Similarly, they tried to get Jason to shut up but were ineffectual at it during the town hall (because the town would likely not have allowed them to stop him from talking).

Re: Being a parent As a parent, it really weighs on insecurity and anxiety. Anything that happens... did I do something wrong? Did I miss something? So easy to fall down a rabbit hole, and I can't imagine the extra stress of a child dying like that. And so easy to blame yourself.

It's not a scarf that Nancy has on; that's the collar of her sweater. Those cowl-necks were flipping _huge_ in the mid to late '80s. I had one that was black and dark green. Worn with stirrup pants because of course it was. Anyway, it would not be easy to remove without raising the rating of the show.

Hopper has been in a Russian prison for a while now. He has military background trama, a failed prison exscape, failed marriage, his child died, he believes from his time spent in military.. He is entitled to have a moment or two. Next.. Hawkins Police are so not equipped for this. Eddie is really only a person of interest cuz he was said to be at 2 of the locations were crimes were commited. How can they prove with evidence that Eddie even touched these victims. The amount of force to break bones and leave no trace evidence. How ya gonna explain in a courtroom that Devil Worship did these crimes? Meanwhile Jason is going around terrorizing and assaulting people. Why did they even let him speak at town hall? Where is the government in Hawkins? FBI? Next.. Suzzie's crazy family is hilarious. Great Reaction!
