As a fellow identical twin who grew up in the country/midwest where you don’t talk about this stuff, I have thoughts on the first caller. 1. If they were different, it feels like one of them would have noticed growing up. 2. If brother was comfortable questioning why they are circumcising; and his wife said he was uncircumcised and they won’t do it for their boys, then clearly brother and his wife have discussed it and know what it is. Right? Why assume they probably don’t know? 3. If they are different, I could see callers parents not being on the same page and agreeing to do one and not the other more than i could see it being about telling them apart. If I were caller, since brother brought it up in the first place, I would circle back around to him and say “you mentioned at our house that we shouldn’t do it, and I’ve been thinking about it and since I am circumcised it’s all I’ve ever known. Why you don’t recommend it?” And if that doesn’t get him understanding then say “my wife mentioned to me that your wife said you aren’t going to circumcise your boys, and that’s because you aren’t circumcised…I’m definitely circumcised, did mom and dad do us differently?” Keeping it to the words circumcised vs uncircumcised and not mentioning the anatomical parts involved makes it a little easier to talk about for people that avoid talking about this stuff.

Some people literally don’t know what circumcision is. It’s possible the brother just doesn’t know what It means, and he is, but doesn’t realize it. Also possible he got a less “tight shave.” And so he doesn’t realize he was circumcised. And as far as the wife, tons of women have no idea wtf they’re talking about in regards to it. If he has a less severe cut, they literally might not realize Paul is circumcised. I’m super confused as to why it can’t just be asked to the parents. Lol.

The first caller had a pretty weird way to rationalize circumcising his son - "well mine's been snipped so so should his, probably". I know a bunch of religions have bs rules that you have to do it, but the only reason it should be done, is if there's a medical situation where it's advisable or necessary. This is such an easy one that it's weird how they didn't push for him to talk to his parents.
