I have an auto that kinda blew my mind. I planted it in a 3gallon pot, but I planted it on the side of the pot. after it reached its 3rd level, I tied it down to the opposite side whole stem but 1 or 2 inches from the soil, branches all came up, and the top like swirls around the outside of the pot. the entire stem structure looks like a rib cage 🤣 no topping necessary, it's in flower now, she's lookin decent.

Scotty you just blew my mind right there at the end. the company that I retired from is out of Morton Illinois and a Union ironworker invented those rebar caps that worked for Otto Baum inc. And now I just got to say right on Scotty you just gave a really nice vid and I want to say that tomorrow I'm putting my 24-hour a day plants into a 12/12 HPS tomorrow night August 13th. Happy growing and peace out.

I used to use a trellis...but now I use Bud Clips... I won't grow without them!
@mikejensen93904 ай бұрын
I use a trellis in my 2x4 test to arrange the tops to my plant during the flour stage. I also use large office binder clips fastened to the top edge of my fiber pots and green garden wire to start training my plants is veg. I do top my plants.

I like super cropping and tying my branches down for more sunlight for the buds. It also reduces the risk of mildew or funguses
@douglasmorrell35452 ай бұрын
I have a very small tent. I like to grow 3 plants at a time and throughout the grow I will rotate positions and it’s easier to feed. Also I can inspect the plant for the parts that are not getting sun or are overly vegging.
@michael503513 ай бұрын
I've put my autos in a 3 gallon pot a little to one side. Then use a paper hole puncher to punch holes around the rim of the pot. I use hemp string to tie down the taller branches using the holes I put in the pots and that keeps things level. Seems to work great, and everything is reusable.

I use trellis netting for my indoor and I use bamboo and trellis and rabbit fence for my outdoor
@7munkee4 ай бұрын
I'm a fan of using stiff fencing as a scrog screen. The holes are 3"x3" and it will NOT bend as the plants grows helping you keep more uniformity to your canopy. I built a frame out of PVC for $10 or so and the 3x3 piece of fencing was under $5.

You can train the exact same strain to grow totally different with plant training, I have outdoor plants that have leaves double the size of my indoor plants due to training however the outdoor have huge buds with lots of spacing between the nodes like 3 to 4inch's and indoor exact same strain exact same cutting has nodes every two inch's with buds everywhere indoor looks so much nicer and full complete so the exact same strains can be crop steered any how you want or like with enough knowledge. Keep up the hard work fellows.

@@leviduve4001so a cola would be a inflorescence meristem?
@leviduve40014 ай бұрын
@@grassandglobs no, a cola is the flowering top of a cannabis plant where the buds grow together densely. An inflorescence meristem is where the buds form. like branches form from apical meristem.

I use wire to pin down my autos. I take loomex wire for wiring houses, cut off the outer sheath then cut the three inner wires into the desired lengths. Use 14/3 or 12/3, you can bend the wire into whatever shape you need and they are reusable.

Just an addition on the scrog part, usually its placed about a foot over the pot or less ideally. And not sure if you meant let it grow tall then bend, but you typically weave the branches and tuck under the net as its growing during veg while its still small

I have used both and totally agree with the bamboo movement factor. I am leaning in to the fact that bamboo being stronger and more stable allows the girls to really get stronger than mesh = more yeild bigger **. Any one else notice similar by any chance? Cheers

You Veg until 50% of the floor is visible... Then flip to flower... They should at least double in size so they should end up with 100% of the floor not being visible

You can use Recharge right up until harvest, but it fixes a little bit of nitrogen, so most growers like to cut it out the last few weeks of flower.

I try to train the plants as much as possible so I prune least amount of growth off of it. I like shorter wide plants without long leggy branches. So I get many fat buds. It don't pay to grow stem. I tie them down to the planters. No trellis or net. I tie them down just above the larf distance off my lights.

Question: how long after topping do you wait to flip? How much do the new tops need to grow to make a decent cola?
@ScottyReal4204 ай бұрын
You want to give the new tops time to develop so at least a week or two.
