Probably from the Demo scene. Remedy crew are mainly part of that group. Second Reality still has the best demo scene musics.

It fascinates me to see how the engine, mechanics and story changed most of all. Something tells me that all those locations were made to showcase the villains and Max's combat abilities. He seems to run from one stage to another, very like a shooting range to show off the gunplay. Also, that disproportionate villain looks like he might have been some kind of Valkyr monster, similar to the Titan henchmen/monsters in the recent Batman games. Some parts of the plot were obviously cut out and used in MP2 as well, namely Vinnie's death and the 'brutal slaying at the construction site'. Presumably Max murdering Vinnie was changed because it made him seem a bit too on the evil side and harder for the player to empathise with - that sadistic smile as he shoots him in the comic strip makes him look downright psychotic! The other interesting thing is that obviously it's Detective Winterson who dies at the construction site in MP2, but in the 1999 trailer the news reporter voiceover says Alex Balder was the one who met this fate at the construction site, obviously it was originally meant to be Alex dying there instead of behind the gates in the Subway in the final version of MP1. Lastly, the early trailers don't so much as mention Max's family, and so it reads like Max is out for revenge because of Alex's death. Maybe Remedy decided that his homicidal spree was massively disproportionate if was just avenging a friend, and gave him a more justified anger by reworking the story so that the revenge was for his dead wife and child, with Alex's death kept in the plot but used in a smaller way.

You got the spirit bro, Max is literally into the wild and unknown. Now that I'm more into the game (I've been playing a little) I feel less prejudice against Rockstar, they made it pretty realistic after all, I mean they killed all the thrill and the comic book stories but added more action more blood and more realism. It's just too much "gangsta" if you kept the idea (of course the brazillian gangsta way) but I must admit that they did their homework pretty well done.

What's interesting to me is how the story seems to be mostly set in stone, even with the completely different assets and enemies. Even though the comic book cutscenes have a different artstyle, we can see in the interrogation scene that the poses are the same, meaning they had already at least started on doing the modeling for them.

It seems that when characters were killed their models were changed to be all bloody (especially apparent when the big guy at 2:06 dies at 2:10), which would have been a minor but interesting thing to have kept in if you killed someone via multiple shots with a uzi or something. Other than that they obviously intended for the game to be a lot more "action"-y than the more noir attitude they later took.

Thank u, I really appreciate! They r my main languages! MP1 has a patch to portuguese but It suck... It is situated in NY, USA for the god sake and there is pointless translating the characters! It kills the entire thrill of the plot! Differently from playing something situated in São Paulo (could be Rio too) and listening all the cameos speaking portuguese, now it is awesome!

English is an universal language, we need it to communicate over the world! People who doesn't know it r really behind from those who does! For business, english is obligatory (in some circumstances also spanish, german and french are too)! I tried german once but it's hell difficult, now I'm learning italian! When games, like Max Payne 3, uses the native languages from where the story is situated is fantastic! Lawyers needs to learn also latin (not my case)
