I remember watching the race and seeing the gap come down significantly by 6 or 7 tenths pretty quickly. Initially I thought Max had made a mistake somewhere. Then they played the “check to see if he lifted for the yellow” radio message. I did enjoy when Jolyon Palmer was whining about Max complaining on the radio about Lando ignoring yellows, then a minute later Lando was complaining about Lewis speeding into the pit lane. Lewis wasn’t even in Lando’s race at that point haha. He didn’t have a lot to say about drivers complaining after that.

@tylerjennings8242 Crazy thing is the messed up live on TV and showed us Lap 29 when it was a solid yellow . When infact the penalty and the lap that was in qestion was Lap 30 , whole weekend was a mess I understand that the FIA Directior first F1 and he also did F2 and F1 academy which was far to much for any human . The delayed decision on the wing mirror that then cause and ruined 2 manufacturers races. Was very poor decision should been a VC straight away at least and then a possible saftey car . The decision made last race was shocking on FIA side .

Palmer has always been unfair towards Max. Same with Crofty and Ted. They always favor british drivers and make sure that british drivers look good

Palmer ALWAYS says this when drivers complain on the radio. There is even a little picture that pops up sometimes when they are talking about it.

@ That’s usually during the practice sessions when drivers complain about other people being in the way. I get that, because it happens at least 5+ times a practice session on average. After Max brought up Lando speeding under yellows though, he specifically said he “didn’t like the drivers whinging on the radio” during the race. It was clearly directed toward Max.

​@@Redlingstein I mean George had decent pace throughout the race. And the grip level was getting much better midway through the race. It was only Lewis who had no pace at all. He was slower on mediums than George on hards. George would have possibly overtaken few at the safety car restart on the mediums because the hards had no grip at the restart. For example Alonso did it and was able to finish well in the points.

GP/Max are are a set that will be hard to repeat in the future.... Credits to GP for keeping that Lion on a leash when needed - and credits to Max to trust GP 110%. They seem to have a stronger bond than most brothers have. As to the Russel thing - and this comes from a massive Max fan: I am not that upset about it to be fair. Undoubtedly Russel is the sneakiest, complaining driver on the grid but....he IS a great driver and it is a Big Boy's sport. I personally cannot stand him but he has to do what is best for HIM, at all times. Russel reported Max to gain an advantage. Max reported Lando for the same reason. Lando reported Lewis for the same reason. Only PEREZ reports everyone, everywhere, all the time, for reasons no one understands.

@@doggies.will.be.doggies there is a difference though, Max had the pitwall to check if Lando messed up, which Lando did on his own. George created a false scenario and moaned to the stewards afterwards that Max was to blame which in a fair world was not on Max. It’s the equivalent of a soccer or basketball player flopping to get a call from the refs and I have 0 respect for that. What Max did to Lando a more common and sportsmanlike occurrence throughout sports, when you tell the officials this guy or team did or is doing something against the rules and you want them to take action of keep an eye on it. In the case Lando didn’t do anything wrong and Max still harped on it, then it then goes more towards the George thing, but that’s why Max asked the pitwall to confirm first.
