I watched Max and Leclerc race in F3, and a lot of people thought Leclerc was better. What I saw in Max was a man that was able to get the most from an inferior car and outdrive most others. Ever since he won the first championship he has increased his skill level beyond any other driver. The Mercedes bunch has tried to intimidate him pushing for rules changes they think will put them on top again. When the hybrid era started Mercedes already the engine built and held a patent on certain parts that gave them all their years of Hamilton dominating. This new era of all teams having identical equipment has really shown the magic of Red Bull and the driving ability and perfection of Max's skill. Hopefully they keep Newey and Max long enough to shatter all records.

RPM has been COOKING. It was a masterpiece after all. I love you framed the whole thing as a thriller, the lion stare had no right going THAT hard. And yes, Baku was certainly a breaking point. As much as people love to hate Checo and fantasize about their favorite driver taking the heat to Verstappen in the same machinery, it begs the question: which drivers would be able to take that much pressure and come out on top? In my book at least there are only two names: Alonso and Hamilton. The rest lack experience, mental fortitude, have skill issues or a combination of all three.

@raddishone929 ай бұрын
@@niels1755 Yeah car performance wise nobody has a chance right now, but they're talking about which drivers would have a shot if given a car that can fight. That's why Hamilton and Alonso are mentioned, because Hamilton has already taken the fight to him and Alonso is very much capable too. It's like saying Verstappen couldn't take the fight to Hamilton before the 2021 season started, he never had a car to compete for a title for a full season long, but immediately brought the heat when he did get one. Similarly, if the W15, AMR24 (or 2025 Ferrari for that matter) turn out to be capable of matching the RB20 until the last race, Hamilton and Alonso would immediately be contenders until Abu Dhabi.

I was dreaming of a Dutch guy ever winning a GP or maybe a championship, But the dominance that Verstappen displays is arguably the best of all F1 history. Still unreal to me.... I remember as a teenager talking about three things with a friend when it came down to Dutch winning big sport events in my lifetime; World Cup Soccer, Tour de France or F1 world champion.
