@@pe-peron8441 it’s amazing how little you know about F1. S3 isn’t even the fastest sector in Monaco, nor does it have any features that aligned with the RB19’s strengths. I watched Max and Leclerc race in F3, and a lot of people thought Leclerc was better. What I saw in Max was a man that was able to get the most from an inferior car and outdrive most others. Ever since he won the first championship he has increased his skill level beyond any other driver. The Mercedes bunch has tried to intimidate him pushing for rules changes they think will put them on top again. When the hybrid era started Mercedes already the engine built and held a patent on certain parts that gave them all their years of Hamilton dominating. This new era of all teams having identical equipment has really shown the magic of Red Bull and the driving ability and perfection of Max's skill. Hopefully they keep Newey and Max long enough to shatter all records.

RPM has been COOKING. It was a masterpiece after all. I love you framed the whole thing as a thriller, the lion stare had no right going THAT hard. And yes, Baku was certainly a breaking point. As much as people love to hate Checo and fantasize about their favorite driver taking the heat to Verstappen in the same machinery, it begs the question: which drivers would be able to take that much pressure and come out on top? In my book at least there are only two names: Alonso and Hamilton. The rest lack experience, mental fortitude, have skill issues or a combination of all three.

@@niels1755 Yeah car performance wise nobody has a chance right now, but they're talking about which drivers would have a shot if given a car that can fight. That's why Hamilton and Alonso are mentioned, because Hamilton has already taken the fight to him and Alonso is very much capable too. It's like saying Verstappen couldn't take the fight to Hamilton before the 2021 season started, he never had a car to compete for a title for a full season long, but immediately brought the heat when he did get one. Similarly, if the W15, AMR24 (or 2025 Ferrari for that matter) turn out to be capable of matching the RB20 until the last race, Hamilton and Alonso would immediately be contenders until Abu Dhabi.

As a Dutch person watching F1 since 1994 this is actually not even a dream that I could have dreamed of... I was dreaming of a Dutch guy ever winning a GP or maybe a championship, But the dominance that Verstappen displays is arguably the best of all F1 history. Still unreal to me.... Even when he wins every race I sincerely enjoy every second because I will probably never see this again. I remember as a teenager talking about three things with a friend when it came down to Dutch winning big sport events in my lifetime; World Cup Soccer, Tour de France or F1 world champion. We all agreed that the Tour de France is most likely and maybe a World-Cup. A Dutch winning the F1 championship was immediately disregarded as not possible. This is amazing to see. Ofc he never was dominant, as his years at Benetton were those in which Schumacher rose as the star of his generation, but man, I remember Jos being at Arrows whose car was nowhere near the points in raw performance, and he still managed to score a few with it. Jos the Boss ! Jos was crazy as well for the cars he had - Max had excellent tutelage under him at least... :)

I guess you never saw Senna, even more milimetric and shifting with a knob, so, he was a beast sometimes with just one hand

@@ursuss100 When it comes to Jos I will always say... go watch the Malaysian GP from 2001. Everybody went off and Jos put that Arrows on P2 for a long time, even giving Schumacher problems and if it weren't for the difference in power and the fact that the Arrows was running a much smaller fuel tank... Michael would have an issue. That said, also watch that post-race press conference because Michael had to put in a good word for his best friend Jos Verstappen as he was honestly amazed.

Look, I'm not a huge fan of F1 because as an outsider it seems more about the cars than the drivers... but these two were ostensibly driving the same car. What. A. Legend. The precision on display there at Monaco is.. inconceivable.

Its really a balance of both the car and driver. You could have the best car on the grid and yet have a pretty mediocre driver driving it and vice versa. Max just proved that both a strong driver and car will win most of the season indefinitely

@@ouderwetsss The only one of the guys I mentioned that could hold a candle to Max was Senna. I never saw Clark, or Fangio drive, Peter Windsor seems to think Clark was the best ever, I think Senna had more championships in him, but Max is rewriting the record books as we watch. The guys who set the records Verstappen is breaking were all GOATs, just watch the guy in an interview, he's completely unfazed by any of this, unaffected. It's fundamental to his nature to race. That's all he does, even when he's not racing, he's racing. He's the purest, and the best racer you'll ever see in your life.
