What impresses me most about max is his consistency. While it's true that he can carry ungodly amounts of speed through every turn, his ability to break at the exact same spot each turn of each lap. it's a normal practice to be consistent in race. ofc consistency is more important than speed. there are many endurance races from 4 to 24 hrs (solo!) when you must not be fast but consistent. its a practice, caring tyres and special car settings. for example a good (consistent!, not fast!) driver can make 15 laps in a row within 0.05-0.1s.

@@revirdkcalb you dont see the green light because it s not verstappen streaming. But max do see the lights

@@FredbullGaming But I mean, how can we then be sure he didn't jump start? Or do you get immediately penalized if you do (and he didn't, so that's how we know)?

This HAS to contribute to why Max is so good.

He should have given dunne the position after pitching about the wall. If he's not much faster than everybody pass them clean. If you really watch how he drives he did it intentionally.

I know it's just a video game. But the speed in the game is 1x to 1.5x too slow. Watch On Board footage of Sebring from the C8 which is also a GT3 car. This and in about every racing sim, is too slow. The LMP cars are moving how the GT3 cars should move. They need to increase the speed of the LMP cars, give GT3 the LMP cars speed. This feels like I'm watching maybe 70-80mph. When I watch onboard footage it feels like the car is going over 100 mph.

I think you are asking for the impossible. No game can provide images that simulate the small important variations in color, light and shadow compared to real world footage. Those variations create depth and a sense of three dimensions, and hence "speed." The game will always look less three dimensional than the real world. I will say I spent nearly 5 hours this weekend driving Sebring in a GT car on IRacing, using VR head set, and the images move past your eyes in a way that is comparable to this. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHLbl3R6gLpnntU . In the game, holding the wheel, moving your focal points to braking points and apexes etc., it feels a lot faster than it looks from a static view on youtube.

Hmm. Looks like it but there was no very distinct visual cue that they made contact. Would be good to see more angles of what happened.

Imagine a someone of that calibre playing a sim with one of the worst tire physics!

We all wonder but in the end there is no other sim with even close as many professional racing drivers. Across all categories (Open Wheelers, GT, LMP) for every 100 professionals on iRacing, all other sims combined have about 1 professional racing. I personally don't compete on iRacing anymore since 4 years, but there must be something about it that keeps the Pros there...

That start is illegal under iracings starting rules, and is cheesy imo but still a great race.

someone said : They probably assumed the race started when their group crossed the start/finish line and not when the GTP cars crossed the line.
@jellegeeftreacties3698 Жыл бұрын
He overtook no one before the 00:00 clock came (start race). He simply sped up earlier, which is allowed. You just can’t overtake anyone, you bet that he read the rules, most likely more than most iRacing players since he is one of a handful of drivers with almost 10k irating

If the software were up to date (iRacing's engine is over twenty years old), it would incorporate basic penalties into the race start.
