This song was played a lot 4 years ago back when my boyfriend and I started seeing each other. Agreed! I finally watched it yesterday and I wanted to cry. The video REALLY added so much meaning to the lyrics that I apparently didn't grasp. Simple yet outstanding!!! Ugh, this is what terrifies me about falling in love with that one special person... Spending your entire lives together, loving that person with every fiber of your being & knowing you'd do anything for them... But, everybody eventually dies.. & THAT'S what scares the shit outta me... Bcus, I'm afraid that once I get old with that special person, if they die before me, I'm just not gonna know what to even do with myself afterwards. You're gonna wanna die too just to be with them again. Bcus you love them so damn much, that youd rather die than live without them in your life every single day... My dad passed away when I was 14 back in 2012, & him and my mom were together ever since they first met back when they were like 13 years old. & they were together until death did them part. They absolutely adored each other. My dad loved the hell outta my mom, & she loved my dad more than anything in this world... They had 4 beautiful, healthy children together & he unfortunately passed away 5 months after he turned 40. He was too young to die. And I'll NEVER FORGET how much my dads death ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED her.. She was miserable for the full year after he died. So, that is what scares me about falling so madly & deeply in love with someone, is when they die, you're left all alone not knowing how to even live life without them. Bcus all you've ever known was living life with that other person. And after they're gone, it's like starting a whole entire new life, having to learn how to just go thru everyday without having that person there anymore has got to be the hardest fucking thing to ever go thru & I DONT want to ever feel that kind of pain & sadness... :(

The bad part is that you don't have to spend that long with someone for it to destroy you. I only had two years before the love of my life was taken by a random drive by. He passed me the engagement ring he'd bought to ask me to marry him on that night as he lay dying in my arms. In some ways it feels worse when you don't have all those happy years together because you are left wondering what a beautiful life you could've had with a love like that. At least if you had those years you got to spend your life happy together til the end.

yea but what you have to think about is all the great times and memories your mom has with your father and im sure your father died knowing he had a great and loved life from your mom if you fear losing someone so much that you cant love anyone you will love ur life and still die one day but alone without any memories if its 1 year or 50 years of memories its always worth it

Sorry for your loss and the pain death left your mom and my opinion its like that saying goes better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all . death, pain is only a reminder to us that whatever it is or was that we felt was real and only thing worse is to feel lonely or be alone because at the time of our demise I would think that regret will fill your thoughts sometimes we do need to let go and put our guard down and live !!! and I say this as a father of three I take comfort in that thought.. that I did leave my self open because now I see its a beautiful thing having kids that I love unconditionally and no doubt your dad felt the same way about you and your siblings so I'm just simply saying live life it can be to short sometimes to be scared of experiences your selling your dad short of the love he has for you and what he shared with your mom and you guys witnessed .I can go on with a lot more but my kid is pulling my leg as I'm typing lol so I wish you the best in your quest for happiness and love
