I want to clarify one thing: there was no union between Somaliland and the trust territory of Somalia italiana, rather the territory joined Somaliland to close the trusteeship agreement which requires from the trust territories to join an independent country to close or to wait untill the agreement expires or ends per UN trusteeship act.
