This is a big one and it's because Lisbon has so many amazing things to do, see and eat! Three days is just enough time to do it all in Lisbon and the surrounding area's but if you like to take it slow we would recommend staying a bit longer so you don't feel rushed. We cover so much of what to do in Lisbon with this travel guide but if there is anything we missed make sure you let us (and the other viewers) know in the comments 🫶

Thank you for the video. I was expecting to see better eating suggestions. Neighborhood places with local food. Asian food or fish and chips in Portugal, wouldn't have been a choice for me.

One historical fact about the castle, has to do with the Martim Moniz square where you had those oriental food treats. The name Martim Moniz was the name of a Noble or a soldier of the Portuguese army during the reconquest of Lisbon from the Moors, as the forces were trying to enter the castle from one the gates, the Moors tried to close it and to prevent them from doing that, Martim Moniz used his body to stop the gate from being closed...he was crushed and died but the Portuguese troops managed to enter the castle and take back Lisbon. His sacrifice made it possible, so his name was given to the square.

Fun fact; Portuguese is part of the language family 'Romance language'. There are five Romance languages French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and Romanian

It looks exactly like the Golden Gate Bridge, but it’s actually the Ponte Abril 25, named for that date in 1974 that marks the Carnation Revolution which brought an end to a crushing dictatorship under Salazar. I live here, but sometimes I call it the Golden Gate! 😂 Nice vlog of some of Lisbon’s highlights. Bom trabalho!!!

It’s a very cool bridge! We actually got to see the celebration in Porto on Abril 25! Very fun and thank you for watching 🧡

@@MaxandJacqueline - It looks similar because it was actually designed and build by the same company that build the Oakland Bay Bridge, not the Golden Gate Bridge. 😉

Went there around Sept 2024. The Pink Street is quite small. Some of the paint coming off. A lot of renovations happening in Lisbon but also plenty of empty or closed buildings.

Honestly the hotel was not great, couldn’t recommend it. But the location was awesome! The ferry is the public ferry, you use the metro card to tap on and off and you can see the schedule on Google Maps 😊

I wish they'd mentioned the pricing more, like Sintra guide and would that include the entrance ticket? Because I thought buying in advance would save time.

I know you're not familiar with the Portuguese language, so here's a pronunciation tip: the "ç" always has an "ss" sound, so "praça" should sound like "prassa" and not like "praca". 11:34 - Do you know what the name of those stairs translates into English? It's "The Little Stairs of Health". How fitting is that? 😄 17:40 - It's not the oldest bookstore in the world, it's the oldest bookstore *still in activity* in the world and it's in the Guiness for that reason. 😉

Hope you guys had a great time in Lisbon! But, come on, three days isn't enough to visit the city. In three days you rush around, see the basic tourist spots (likely overpriced and crowded) and that's not good enough. I usually recommend closer to a week, ir order to visit Sintra/Cascais as well. Make sure to come back. You're always welcome!
@MaxandJacqueline

Three days is just enough to see all the main tourist spots but like anywhere it is always better to stay longer and explore more 🧡

Not to fun history fact: In this "age of discovery/enlightenment," the Portuguese we're known to be some of the worst slave traders. Not that there were any good ones.

No, the worst ones were the Africans who grabbed other Africans to sell them to the Europeans or Arabs or any one willing to buy them. No European went inland to pick any one, They Africans were the ones catching people from other tribes to sell them or change them for goods. Let's use the brain first.
