Just sold my Harley to get a Silverwing! Don't regret it at all! LOVE HONDA SILVERWINGS! Great video! :) I rode Harleys for 20 years, and just got tired of them. These Silverwings are amazingly easy to ride. I feel much safer. :) Scoot on, everyone!

I rode regular motorcycles most of my 60 plus years life, and switched to scooters around 5 years ago. I now ride an 03 Honda Reflex with around 5k miles on it. Just put new tires on it. It has plenty of power and speed for me and have no desire to get something larger. I can cruise 75 to 80 easy if i want to, and for me it is the perfect bike.

I am 70 years old and my Burgman 650 has kept me in the fun. As far as technical riding is concerned, the best part of handling a heavy scooter is the LOW center of gravity.. that in of itself makes handling the pig a breeze.

I agree that the handling on these big scoots are impressive 🙏👍😌 Safe Riding!!🙂

Love my Burgman 400. Have arthritis in both hands and not having to use a clutch is a God send. Plus with a cvt it's super easy to go uphill from a dead stop.

You said it! No clutch, no problem. It's just smooth sailing🏄♂️👍 Is it Blue?
@dennisscoot71944 жыл бұрын
@@MSG_MOTO Yes it's blue. It's the new dark blue for 2019. Bought her in April. My previous scooters were 2 Kymcos, a Super8-150 and then an Xtown 300. Then a Honda Reflex 250 and now my Burgman 400 and a Honda PCX 150. Learned on a Honda Rebel 250 and that's how I discovered clutching was a problem. The Kymco 300 was a bit too heavy so I sold it and bought the Reflex 250, which was extremely comfortable But not quite fast enough. Now with the Burgman I have comfort and it's plenty fast enough.

Is the cvt appropriate for riding full throttle or do u potentially risk damaging it? I previously had an old 2009 125cc piaggio and I'm purchasing a 2021 400cc Suzuki burgman so I was wondering what's the limitations of this bike?
@Edwinbraun202 жыл бұрын
Very fair points. I personally love scooting more than motorcycling because of the ease of use. I love wearing slippers and cruise along the beach with 20km per hour without having to change gears and things. Plus I very much enjoy scooter step though structure. Stepping over a motorbike can be bothersome. Specially for my wife who love wearing skirt while riding. Scooters are very good

I love riding my 650cc Suzuki Burgman. I have the range, speed, agility and the flexibility to drive literally from door to door. I still use my BMW F800ST but only in the summer. The disadvantage of the scooter is that you feel the bumps on the road much more.

Always been keeping a scotter on the side , i have the ak550 now and almost 600 miles on it in about a month of ownership, I love it and I have many bikes before and now I have 3 , honda forza 300 and a vtx1800 , I'm selling the forza because I can't even compared with the ak550 , quality probably ill go honda forza but can't say much about since i just got this ak , owned the gt300i kymco and was a blast but not even close to this ak, owned the honda helix 250 and not even close, owned the Burgman 400 and can't even compared weight balancing and center of gravity is completely different the ak is more agile on the road , owned sport bike and test road many bikes , I started since 12 years old riding ,and owned over 15 bikes, this Ak550 is a comfort ride and agile because of the way they made it , got enough power to do long rides without stressing it and even 2 people on it, I love it! , the only thing is that it's seating height isn't the best for me since I'm 5'8" so I been on my toes at light stops etc , cruise control will be nice but I bought those go cruise type that clamps on the grip and it does fine for me. Maxi scooters are perfect! , love scooters!.

Well said. IDK why we have the attitude we have about scooters. Especially max scoots they are perfect for America. They just recently started selling the Tmax again (in america). People need to get on that. If 560cc isn't enough for you then idk what is. it goes roughly 120mph.... How fast you wanna go? There's turbo kits and all manner of crazy shit if you wanna get crazy. If not..... It's just a really solid bike. I don't understand it. ABS disc brakes, i believe traction control, Enough storage for your helmet, it will charge your phone (usb), heated grips, multiple riding modes, key less start, has an app for your smartphone that goes with it... What more do you want if you're a grown adult? You can tour on it for sure.

Excellent demonstration of scooter advantages through actions. I have had your version of SW since 2008. I bought it brand new at the start of the 2008 recession. From 2010 to 2018, I was a motorcycle instructor with Nova Scotia Safety Services. I was the only instructor out of 80 that drove a Maxi scooter. I also have a 2017 Kawasaki Versys X 300, but my wife just loves being on the back of the SW. We go for tours and hikes with a picnic under the seat. I notice you live and work in La Belle Province. Come and visit us in the Maritimes. Keep up the most informative demos and instructional maintenance videos on the SW I have ever seen. Dave

Pop's is from North Preston, so yeah I'm trying to get the SW out on the Cabot next chance I get. Cheers and have a great great day 😀

I ride a 400cc scooter but did my MSF on a 250cc motorcycle. I actually think the motorcycle was a bit safer because of the clutch control. The clutch gives you more finesse at slow speed. The ability to down shift also gives you a safer option for slowing in corners. Also I think being able to squeeze you legs against the bike helps you have more control during the lean. I went with the scooter because I really struggled with shifting.

also there are many benefits to the Parking brake while riding. I have had Many Many Motorcycles, But scooters are by far my favorite, The New Yamaha xmax 300 is Light weight and good power to weight, the Newly designed 2020' Honda Forza 300 is Very Nice and good Power to weight plus it has a electric windshield, plus many excellent features. and only 400-pounds in weight. That is 150 pounds lighter than the Silverwing 600. Plus 70+ MPG for the New Forza 300

Saw a guy on a Romanian channel that went crusing between EU countries on one with his wife. He said he could go over 140km/h on the freeway, but was half-complaining about having to refill it every 350km or so.
@migueldecarvalho80123 жыл бұрын
@@SaruwatariMasahiro I've done a few 250 - 300km rides on the motorway. The little 300cc engine surprised me in a good way. I refill every 200 km. 140 kph is not a problem, I have certainly done it, though I like to be in the 100 - 110 kph range. Fuel wise it's not the most economical bike. It's comfortable and practical. My bike will never get me laid, but it does get second looks.
@SaruwatariMasahiro3 жыл бұрын
@@migueldecarvalho8012 Awesome, thanks for the reply. I'm currently looking up on not-car means of transport. I'm super hyped you can actually do full-on cruising like this on a maxi scooter. My city Bucharest is currently faster to walk to work than to drive a car/public transport. So I'm looking into many things. So far maxi scooters and 70kph+ electric unicycles catch my attention the most. The electric unicycles can filter trafic much better I believe, but You can't pass on going on weekend trips on a maxi scooter it seems now to me.

Good video Sir. I own a Honda Silverwing 600 2011 and it is a fast motorscooter. I have had a couple of other motorscooters such a Burgman Aprilia Scarabeo and Sym 600 but also motorbikes and the one thing that makes the difference is that the suspension of motorbikes is better. I think that is a pity because a scooter is so much easier (you have no stress of wondering in what gear you are)to drive on and I feel much safer on my scooter. Especially in town it is much more relaxed riding. And I am sitting in it. On a motorbike I sit on it.

I haven't rode a Maxi Scooter yet... However, you made some good points... It's is not fair to compare a 150cc scooter to a Maxi. For me, my 150cc is only good for short trips to the store or to play around on. I enjoy riding it but it is limited by a lack of power... If I had panyareds on my Z1000SX, I would like to make a comparison to a Maxi scooter. I would suspect that I would miss the power but have similar storage abilities.
@MSG_MOTO6 жыл бұрын
I think you would agree that it not so much how fast your get there. The power of your KZ and the storage of the S'wing would be a match made in heaven. Both are to competent machines capable moving people from point A to point B. Fyi: I'm looking into reopening my Skype acct and I'll keep you posted. 👍
