The protoype of Voith Turbo's Maxima 40 CC is accelerating a coal train of 2600 tons presented in Velim by Voith Turbo Lokomotivtechnik and Ox-traction. You will see the high performance of the Maxima 40 CC by low level noise and exhaust emission level.

diese Zugkraft bei leichter Nässe auf die Schiene zu bringen ist eine Meisterleistung genau wie die Kraft

Diese Lok wurde mit Autodesk Inventor 11 konstruiert... nur so am Rande.. Geile Kiste !!!!

It's a diesel-hydraulic locomotive- the first to be built in over forty years. And it won the Red Dot Design Award.

I would like to hear this lokomotive leave or enter the siding in fornt of my house in the middle of the night when the city is quiet. It sounded pretty loud and if it is competing against the class 66 it does not seem to be an improvement noisewise. My opinion is based on this video only...

So how does something like this work? An engine can only rotate so slow before it dies, so I'm guessing some sort of clutch where they slowly transfer engine power from flywheel only to a flywheel and the shafts that go to the wheel until the train gains momentum then they release the clutch more and that pattern continues? If not, how?

@kratos32godofwar This scene in this video is a test situation for the anti slide automatic. Accelerating during rain / wet tracks in a curve. No other locomotive, no matter how strong, could have solved this test in a better manner. Simply because this is the most modern anti slide automatic now. You can´t compare that with an acceleration under normal circumstances (acceleration on straight tracks in dry weather).

@Picapacapopo no this in not a car it has a voith turbo fluid coupling system. Seek after this couple sistem here in youtube and you will understand.

Im Video geht es um Anfaht bei schlechten Streckenverhältnissen. Es ist doch alles eine Frage der Reibung Rad/Schiene und der Achslast. Hier ist jetzt bei Nässe der Reibwert trotz Sandstreuens gering. Da zieht auch keine Lok mit höherer Motorleistung besser an. Also Wunschdenken, daß andere Loks (und schon gar keine dieselelektrischen) das besser könnten. Die Schlupfregelung ist hier gefordert und sie funktioniert gut.

this loco has 5000hp with 4 stroke power diesel. the powerest voith diesel locomotive with hidraulic transmission.

vouth maxima gilt zur zeit als die stärskte diesel lok. 2600 tonnen kann er ziehen, soviel ich weiss er kann bis 5000 tonen ziehen. ich kann aber nicht sagen was für ein effekt macht es wenn das wetter schlecht ist. ich kann aber mir nicht vorstellen dass ein lok in guten wetter 5000 in schelchten 2500 zieht. das lok voith maxima 40 cc, das hier im bild, wie gesagt, ist zur zeit VOR dem GM Dash9,mit 4400PS, Stärkste Lok der welt z.Z.

Die Dash 9 ist von General Electric, nicht von GM EMD. EMD hat mit den SD80MAC bereits in den 90´ern ein Maschine mit 5000PS,mit der SD90MAC HII eine 6250PS Maschine, die SD80ACe für Südamerika hat sogar 5500PS und die GE ES58 für Südamerika hat 6250PS. Viel interessanter ist die Anfahrzugkraft. Hier sieht es wieder anders aus. Dash 9 4400PS : 631kN AC4400CW / Drehstromvariante der Dash 9 : 800kN ES44AC : 815kN ET44AC: 890kN EMD SD40 ; 515 KN EMD SD70ACe 850KN EMD SD80MAC : 830kN EMD SD80ACe: SD90MAC HII : 915kN EMD Class 66/77 : 410 bis 470kN Die neue SD70ACe T4 hat 890kN und liefert etwa 700kN Dauerzugkraft. Die Maxima hat bei 4900PS gerade mal 410kN Anfahrzugkraft. Die aktuell stärkste Elektrolok hat bei rund 15000PS 2x 600kN; kurzzeitig 2x 700kN. Bei der Zugkraft spelen mehrere Faktoren eine Rolle. Nasse Gleise können durchaus so eine starke Zugkraftreduktion hervorrufen. Wenn die Maschine dann noch relativ leicht ist, drehen die Räder durch und die Zugkraft bricht ein. Die Dash 9 wiegt etwa 195 Tonnen, die Maxima etwa 130 Tonnen.
