Benzie, I'm an Echoes player... and as a much bigger Homeworld fan, I'm super pleased you seem to be getting into HW Mobile. The devs are really cool, but the team is small. I fear many people are not going to get through the rough first steps into the game. They are working on making that more smooth and accessible for new bros, but I'm glad your here helping people figure things out. I wasn't aware of the "put a star on a mission you want to focus on" thing. So i learned something new =)

Hey Captain! I love your Echoes videos, and I'm excited you are making HW:M content as well! Tip for mining, don't fleet more than 4 collectors per drop off point. When you get carriers that have 6 squadron slots, you can only get maximum effect out of 4 as harvesters. The extra 2 will just be sitting around waiting in queue the whole time, so equip fighters instead for the last 2 slots.

Also, even if your officers don't have specific skills for the job you assign them to, their stats still benefit the craft or job you assign them to.

First, there's two more ways to get ore that you didn't mentioned. They're way less effective, but can be quite handy if you need just a little bit more and don't want to go mining: 1) You can get some as reward for clearing combat missions (signals) 2) You can buy ore with credits from the market on any station. They're on the bottom of same category as daily free currency pack. Secondly, your officers can improve performance of resource collectors (and other ships too) even if they don't have corresponding passive bonuses (like one you have for D type ore). They can buff ships based on own stats and you can see it on the video. One of the RCs give 75 units of ore per run, while other (with officer) works a bit more effective and gives 79 each time. If you want to min max your efficiency but don't have enough miners, you can set any officer with proper stats (as far as I know, mining affected by physics stat) even if he/she don't have any mining passives to boost efficiency of your ships. Also, about Hiigaran Criopod, it's basically officer lootbox. I got one today from mission rewards and acquired uncommon officer from it.

Here is a tip for mining if your in a belt that other players are in all resource collectors will go to the nearest flagship and drop the ore off but the player that owns those collecters gets the ore so the travel time for resource collecters is kind of null if you have other players in the belt which is the best way to mine really gets rid of the pirates faster

Benzie you can’t lose ships if your game crash or get disconnected, you automatically get emergency warped to nearest station. Never lost a ship so far, been playing it for days. Btw thank you for introducing me to the game, didn’t know anything about it until I saw your underselling first video.

On Day 7 of your login rewards you will receive a free Resource controller. This is an escort class ship and can be swapped in/out of your frigate slot. It can increase mining speed and also mine asteroids in belts, or you can send it on automated 4 hour mining expeditions while you are offline or AFK.

I've played the original Homeworld, years ago. Always use the guard command to protect your resource collectors.

click guard on your main ship before moving. Then just send your main ship to where you want the whole fleet to move. ALL Will move with your main ship. This way you do not have to move each one separately like you are doing.

My biggest problem right now when it comes to the mining drones is that after you give them a mining task their AI completely breaks making them impossible to micromanage during battle or if I need to escape or make them dock to escape death. They seem to have really bad pathfinding on top of that

Now on a side note once you set a set of drones to mine an asteroid if they do break you can remotely repair any allies ship on the map without them having to get in the thick of the battle you just have to leave the area to get them to mine again

I played the game pre release and it used to be alot worse. I'm sure these problems will get ironed out soon. Type D ore I think is only available at tier 2 or 3. It's supposed to be like a rare ore. Also you miners can unload on someone else's ship but it still ends up in your cargo.

How do I get resources to build my first frigate I'm out of it

I enjoyed it for a few days but after I built my T1 carrier the bugs became game breaking. There is a mission that you cannot start due to a chat bug and therefore cannot proceed any further. I have waited 4 days to see if they will fix the issue but no luck yet. Its too bad, it was fun to play but even if they fix the bugs the launch was a mess.

The chat bug is well known and the Devs are working to fix it. But it's it and miss at launch if it works so try a few restarts and you can get it working

I do get random crashes but it's usually every hour or two

PRO TIP; if you're losing battery on your device like crazy while playing, set to MEDIUM graphics. Even while plugged in, I was losing battery while playing. I turned off sound, that helped, but was still losing battery. I changed to medium graphics (which doesn't look that different) and can now GAIN battery while plugged in.

Had that same problem friend you have to mine over 1000 a b c mainly a or the more a or hope that helps I struggled till a friend helped me with that you get the ore when you've refined in refinery when you collect it

as much as i love the homeworld franchise, the loading screens and having to deal with attacks while you're just mining (forever) turns the game into a chore.

This game is a huge bug, I will not recommend this game to anyone. They should patch this asap, way too much bugs, when U change to another asteroid while mining another it bugs out and not mining another, and this game just won't work on my WiFi idk why...

You have to make sure your resource collector(s) is selected when you want to mine a new target. That stumped me for a bit. The dev team is small enough, that they aren't beyond communicating directly with their players.. which is amazing. Give em a break. They are aware of the bugs and are prioritizing the fixes. The game is pretty unique and is being developed by people that genuinely want to make a cool mobile version of HW and refuse to make it pay-to-win like SO MANY mobile games. Be patient. It'll be great. If its 'bugging' you, just quit and try it again in a month or two.
