Cannot believe these companies who do not unload at times like 4.30pm especially when you only have 6 pallets which would only take a pretty short time. Very well done on that reverse into that factory collection in Dundee. Really enjoyed this video covering about 3 days of running. Stay safe and take care.

baffles me.. theres probably a reason for it i guess but we will tip anyone as long as we got bodies for it... heck more than once we have done it even if goods in have long gone. then again we have a small yard with an not so wide access road thats often lined with cars.. so last thing we need is trucks hanging around
@dardie372 жыл бұрын
Sams yard many moons ago used to to be a shared yard for empty containers and a bus depot and express reinforcements , it was the first place i ever took a load to after passing my hgv , it was a blind side into a gate and along fence and the whole yard was lined with cut n bent re bar lol you soon learnt to blind side , stay safe and keep them coming

Alnwick is pronounced as Annik. Weird I know, but I got corrected once before by a local. You can park by the BP if there is space or if not the industrial estate over the road. Which is a left once off the slip heading south before you go under the bridge.

Hey Luke, need your help. I've got a question about truck sat navs. For cars, I've always used Garmin as it's just better. I thought maybe TomTom are better for trucks. But after comparing the specs and reading tons of reviews I wonder if that is the case, as the Garmin has more ram, a better screen, better maps and free lifetime updates, optional dashcam and reversing camera, Bluetooth and USB C! What are your thoughts as TomTom user for so long, am I missing something?

Hi Luke . I noticed the load you picked up in Dundee was strapped down using the rope hooks aswell as the chassis. They both had 4 straps by the looks, the forward one had 3 of the straps on chassis 1 on rope hooks, the rear one looks like you only had one of the straps on the chassis? My understanding is DVSA would class this as an infringement? I stand to be corrected by yourself or anyone else who knows, but I was told not to strap using the rope hooks.
@lukecinahgv2 жыл бұрын
technically speaking, the straps are five ton straps, and each one of the”pallets” weighed 10 ton. So in theory, I actually only needed two straps per each one. Not 8. It was way overkill and totally safe in my book but yea, Interested to see if anyone else has any opinions on it. Thanks for watching mate

Wages vary. A lot. Generally the more specialised the work the greater the pay, but even then that's not a hard rule. Speaking only for myself, I work for a supermarket as a Class 1 driver trunking trailers between depots and I'm on 58k per year, home every day.
