Hey guys and welcome back to Mad About Skin where in todays video we are talking the ordinary marine hyaluronics. Have you guys tried this product and if so what did you think - let me know in the comments.. Sending you so so much love xx

This is probably one of the few products I rebuy and enjoy from the ordinary. I replaced my hyaluronic acid about almost 2 years ago since I found it sticky and more on the drying side. I agree, this serum will work for most skin types specially in the warmer months. If your skin is on the dry side, like mine is, this is definitely not going to be enough. Strangely enough, I never hear anyone talking about this product... it's been around for quite sometime 👍👍👍

Hi Rob I think I used a bottle of this a few years ago and it was ok, but a lot of the soothing/calming skincare I use have marine ingredients. I also use a fermented Korean essence in my routine, so i'm getting plenty of fermented ingredients there. I'm someone who also doesn't react all that well to HA and have to keep it to a minimum in my routine. If it's in a tiny amount in one or two things I'm ok, but too many layers of it or too high a percentage don't work for me. If you look at many of the soothing/calming products out there many of them contain seaweeds etc and both ectoin and chondrus crispus are in some of my products (alonside centella and beta glucan which are also hydrating in their own right). I'm currently using the Benton fermentation essence which is around £16 for 100mls - this is actually more affordable than the ordinary ml for ml and has a lot of ferments, as well as other good ingredients on the INCI list. Best wishes.

I fill up an empty Hylamide SubQ Mist bottle with a few of these every 4-6weeks and spritz away after cleansing and toning. SubQ mist used to leave me greased up after a couple of hours, whereas this is absolutely perfect.

I tried this a year ago and found it was fine but at the time I needed to treat active acne and hyperpigmentation and so one additional product was a no-go. Now that my skin is at rest, knock wood, maybe I will bring it back to help with hydration. Thanks for the re-introduction.

I agree with everything said here. I have purchased and tried many TO products in recent months. Felt the same way about HA and decided to switch to the marine hyaluronics, which is working well. Applying it first step after cleansing to damp skin, then aminos, then Matrixyl/argirilene, then Euk, then niacinamide + light moisturizer/sunscreen. That regimen is working well for me for daytime. At night using lactic acid 5% mixed with 10%, then the marine H., aminos, the Vit. C derivative with vit. F, niacinamide, then CeraVe night repair moisturizer. Alternate nights using Tretinoin, instead of acid, but working up to every night. Bought the granactive 2% emulsion, but not using on my face. Really love it on neck, chest and hands. BTW, the HA that we're not loving on our face is fantastic on the hair. The best conditioning leave on. Love it! Didn't go to waste.

How do you use it on your hair? After you washed you hair?
@donnafarmer1112 жыл бұрын
@@barbarar5869 yes, after you wash hair while it's still wet just take a couple of drops and spread through the hair. Some people use it on the ends, but you can use it all over. Especially good for frizzy hair and damaged hair.

Being older i love my regular TO hylarunic serum. Ive tried more expensive brands but this one works just as well if not better. I couldnt get the same results from the Marine Hylarunic though. Maybe i should repurchase and try it as a buffering serum like you suggest. Thankfully TO products are so inexpensive that they csn be used and abused. TO has revolutionised skincare to a point of no return. They need a round of applause for this. Previously i could only get results from expensive brands like Clarins and Clinique while also being ignorant of what was going in there and for what reason.

Not to change the subject, but I have tried many products from The Ordinary, but I find they don’t really work with my very sensitive and rosacea- redness skin. The Azaleic Acid and Mineral Sunscreen make my skin feel hot and parched. Also tried the Niacinamide but find I want a moisturizer with it. The Squalene cleanser does not clean well enough and I need a second cleanser to avoid breakouts. I do like the moisturizer with NMF. The Ordinary is a fantastic line, but I guess not every skin type works with it. I do I intend to try more of their products, as the quality and price point is fantastic and worth taking a risk on.

I love your videos and have fine tuned my regimine with so many of your recommendations!!! Appreciate ya beyond words! curious about why you didn’t mention the benefits of plankton extract as an anti-aging ingredient. It’s used in very high priced formulations, and some research has shown that it’s highly beneficial and healthy for the skin. It also contains salicylic acid, which is a good exfoliate, especially if you have oily skin, like you say you do. I haven’t tried this yet, but I am very interested how it will work on my dehydrated skin. Thanks for taking the time to make this.

Hi, Rob! I have used this for a long time and I love it. I always use it as a third step in my morning routine. Wash with water, hydrating toner, marine hylaronics, vitamin C, lactic acid, moisturizer, sunscreen. Listening to your video, I may be using it in the wrong step. Are you saying to use this after the vitamin C and lactic, right before moisturizer? Would you give another little spritz of the hydrating toner before using it at the end? Thanks so much!
@tinasung38142 жыл бұрын
I do love this product over any HA. However, i am starting to think its not as cheap as you think because the consistency is so thin that a good face mist prob can yield the same result. Comparing the price/quantity for a good hydrating face mist to this product, investing in a good face mist might be alot cheaper in the long run.

I found the Marine Hyaluronics last winter and it is the most hydrating serum I've ever used. It has a thin texture like water, I had trouble dropping it into my hands and rubbing them together so I push out one drop at a time around my face and rub it in instead. It absorbs fast and even makes my skin feel like I don't need a moisturizer next (though I still use one lol). Sometimes I would put a few drops of the Matrixyl 10% in my hand then some drops of the Marine Hyaluronics, rub them together and apply, but now I use the Buffet instead. I feel the Marine absorbs better if I use it alone first before thicker stuff. Thank you for reminding me to buy another bottle as we go into Fall! It was only $11 last year so I'm sure it's still around that. Edit: it's $8 in the US!
@hiraimtiaz35142 жыл бұрын
as fall/winter is approaching soon you think it's a good purchase in order to give hydration as I am having a combo skin which becomes dry in winter
@conniescrustycharredcooter24762 жыл бұрын
@@hiraimtiaz3514 that's exactly what my skin is now, combo with dry patches in the Winter. For me the Marine Hyaluronics hydrated my skin so well that ANY moisturizer I put on top worked well with it. To me it is a purchase I will now make every Fall/Winter, it hydrates better than any other serum I've tried, and only $8. I don't think you'll regret purchasing it, but if you do $8 isn't much of a loss. I think everyone should try it

I've mostly cut out all serums from my skincare instead of G&G's Porefectly Clear SA so I haven't tried this one but I do have a question - I know the shiny look is extremely popular these days, but would you ever consider doing the video that completely focuses on mattifying the skin (cheap if possible)? I'm oily to the point to where even the lightest of hydrating products leave a glossy sheen instead of absorbing (I've legit had coworkers ask why my face is wet at work and that was just a moisturiser with a smaller amount of HA). A routine that would make others dead matte would make me look juuust right. (I'm not even kidding. I use the Porefectly Clear as a hydrator lol)

Soooo happy that you shared the possibility of Hyaluronic Acid drying out skin. I have normal healthy skin (even after 50+) and for the first time my skin dried out. Stopped Hyaluronic Acid and wha la, back to normal. Will you share what serums you use daily, where, and how? I cannot figure out when to use Vit C and also would appreciate your suggesting a Vit C product. And.....thank you for suggesting to target treat Argireline followed with Matraxil.
