If you understood the context of the lyrics it would make so much more sense why they sing it the way they do this song talks a lot about bullying and living the way they want to live regardless of what those around them think so when it got really aggressive they were lashing out at the bullies and ignorant people who don't understand and when they were singing more softly or passionately like in the beginning it was talking about their problems and what they struggle with and how they wouldn't let it be in control of them
