RE easystart comments. A mate told me about his mates landy. It had a hole in the bulkhead on the passenger side so you spray easystart into the inlet manifold without leaving the drivers seat!

It might be helpful to throw some of your spare wheels in the land rover to lower it on the springs to enter and leave your workshop. Keep up the excellent videos. 😀

Its amazing with any car thats ‘dry’ (no fuel, water or engine) the springs relax slowly and they grow!

That hydraulic engine table...perhaps it needs bleeding or is there a leak?.Try that and then it might not suddenly drop down and it may start working properly.Keep up the good pace and enthusiasm for the series 2a.All the best.

I would say don't tear that Range Rover apart for the 200TDi, as a late (very late) model classic with presumably the factory diesel it is a rather desirable vehicle and would be well worth restoring for a Range Rover classic fan. I've always wondered how the 6-cylinder BMW turbo diesel used in the P38 Range Rover would go in a Landy, I understand people are putting them in Discoveries without too much difficulty which suggests they should fit in a Series Landy too...
@plumbteam7 жыл бұрын
gosportjamie agreed. I didn't realise they did a 200tdi Range Rover
@gosportjamie7 жыл бұрын
+Sebastian Hibbert Yes, they did. Land-Rover replaced the VM turbo diesel for the in-house 200TDi in about '92 or '93 though they were always pretty rare in the UK as with all factory diesel Range Rovers as an awful lot of new ones were bought by the very comfortably off who didn't see diesel as being appropriate power for a posh set of wheels, though they were incredibly popular in other markets where it is almost impossible to find a factory V8. How times change, now in the UK it is almost impossible to find a new petrol Range Rover that isn't registered to Land-Rover...

gosportjamie I can't think of a vehicle I would like to own more than that. Simplicity, strength, towing ability and comfort. I used to buy old vogue classics and export them to Norway. Back then a decent one was £500 as no one wanted them. Wish I had a few now.
@gosportjamie7 жыл бұрын
Yes, you could even get them as factory automatics like with the Discovery. They were pretty good right out of the box though they were definitely not fast. I wish I'd had the balls to buy a Range Rover when they were cheap but I always scared myself off. I don't think anyone predicted how nuts the values of early Range Rovers would go and how high that would force the prices of later cars. I bet there are a lot of people who are saying exactly the same as you are...

@Garrett0536 жыл бұрын
That is no problem for a engine. The combustion pressure is already beating away on the engine parts, it does not matter if it does so a little faster. Just heats up faster.
