BF1, BF3 and BF4 will always be all-time favorites for me. But I honestly think BF1 takes the cake. There's something about the ambience of the maps with the gunplay and the pacing in terms of movement feeling so right for what it is. It doesn't need to be a fast paced modern shooter, but even though it's a little slower and more strategic, it doesn't feel clunky. It feels very sharp and responsive.

One thing (among many) that I LOVE about BF1 vs. The more modern versions of it is that the guns aren’t all LASER-BEAMS. I can do riskier plays/pushes/revives and not completely be afraid of 5 laser beams raining bullets directly between my eyes. Makes it feel more cinematic when bullets are whizzing past and you get to pull off your goal. Also makes firefights with Teammates so much more satisfying since you’re all gunna miss a few shots (or more if they’re further).

Heaps of closet cheaters. Had a friend who was an admin for a community. The worst part is they know so many of the regulars use wall hacks but unless they do something really blatant they can’t do anything about it.

Yeah why I hated this game. For all that is great about it, you spend most of your time in a shooter...shooting. the random deviation on everything was meant to cap good players so that everyone could spray at eachother and I hated it.

Personally I never had an issue with that mechanic. The entire game is more or less realistic (yes sure it's still a game) but most of the mechanics are meant to feel somewhat realistic and the random bullet deviation fits imo. Playing with SMG's it's usually to close to have any major effects, medic weapons and snipers are somewhat precise and the big machine guns are still quite powerful and you can basically engage at any distance.

@stephanberg7335 except it isn't a milsim. And I did have an issue with long distance guns because the deviation was too drastic. Absolutely knocked it out of the park with bf4, bf1 was meant to prevent players from ever getting good. It's like the entire thing was to cap the skill ceiling so that all players, even bad ones, could feel like they were doing well. All of the clips are just so boring to watch, there's hardly anything competitive about it, and it's not a game for all players, just the bulk.

I personally wouldn't enjoy it if a gun from the early 20th century would be a laser. Maybe another type of game would fit you better in general.

This game was fun but the only things imo that killed it were the overpowered vehicles and lethal spamming, artillery trucks (that probably werent even used in real life) used by noobs that have no life and wanna be scared kids hiding in back spawn, the bomber planes that drop one shot kill bombs on you and u nothing to counter them with besides the turret guns, and the calvary horses that are literally bullet sponges where it takes 100 rounds to kill one but somehow he has aimbot with the horse rifle and can one shot you.. make it make sense

Oh I miss this game so much!!! I used to follow a content creator who would post ACE piloting videos every day of his playthrough as one of the most epic dogfight pilots in BF1. I can't even remember his name anymore because I think he stopped playing when bf2042 dropped but every time I see a BF1 video, it brings back such great memories. Also this was a time when armored vehicles actually killed infantry when you shot them, with one shot too. It was so satisfying as someone who has all of my vehicles maxed out to just roll through absolutely laying wreckage to the enemy team. You can't do that ever in BF2042 because it takes 5 direct headshots with a 50mm cannon to eventually damage an enemy player enough to possibly get a "passenger assist" 😂🤣

BF1 was the first Battlefield game I truly played. It was the best FPS and everything about it felt right. There was also so much variation in the maps and ways to kill players. Not to mention the big larger than life blimp, Ariel fights, and horse riding. It just had so much. Sadly, it has barely any players in 2024 and is plagued by hackers and cheaters.
