anyone else couldn't stop staring at the hair and piece of paper towel he left on the lcd? probably drove the customer nuts once they noticed it
@allanobrien914 жыл бұрын
The "hair" looked like some weird reflection but other bit was most definitely paper towel!

Honestly drove me crazy, vacuum and compressed air perhaps to tidy up a bit, didn’t even wipe the crap off his hands.

Love ya work, have done a few of these now and looks like you have similar problems with it being messy and those tiny little bubbles, did you manage to get rid of those bubbles yet and do you have a video if you have? I like the tip for keeping Loca out of the backlight, that has been a problem for me and you have such a simple solution :) But if you have worked out a method for keeping out the bubbles a video of that would be great. Thanks.

Good video friend I liked, but I have intrigue with that machine at the end where you put the display? What function does it perform? Without it you can not finish the job? I ask because I have never changed a mica of that and I would like to try it, but with a good suggestion if I could help you I would thank you, excellent work friend

What is the glue?
@fonzcarrillo33558 жыл бұрын
Would this work without using the glue? Let's say I crack the screen again and want to swap it out.
@mmz127 жыл бұрын
On this model I would glue it, because unlike other iPad models, this LCD isn't screwed in to the frame. Instead it's held by being attached to the glass.
@joshuaorange82907 жыл бұрын
You will also have touch sensitivity issues as there is an air gap between glass and touch if you don't adhere it.

Result of work he have done: 1. Separating screen would be more easy if you would put wire under touch screen. 2. Applying too much loca glue is not a solution. 3. It's necessary to wait till loca glue would come to the corners by it's self not by pushing screen. 4. Using loca it's just a waste of money and you already destroyed backlight probably lcd also. 5. The end of the video was awesome. Screen was not plugged to device as we all know it's black and sticky. 6. If it was comedy video. Thumbs up 😅

I know these arent the easiest things to do but when lowering the screen should not put flat down on the loca as this will cause bubbles.i always sit one end down and then lower the other end very slow with a tool to let the loca find its own way to the screen.i also use an adjustable jig so there is no movement between the glass and LCD.too much loca also used.

Dejar que los pequeños jugaran con ella, y que la maltraten. Es mejor no darles estos aparatos a los niños, aparte tienen vidrios, y si cortan la piel, y son extremadamente carísimos, especialmente, si son productos de La Manzanita 🍏.

What about the final test? The display-touch assembly perfectly operational and turned on, i mean....
@mmz127 жыл бұрын
He said he was going to redo it due to the bubbles. Why test it?
@CookieCraftMedia6 жыл бұрын
Because he might have destroyed the lcd during the removal of the glass, thats why you should test it.

Unfortunately you must replace the glass, digitizer and LCD. You can't just replace the glass unless one has lots of experience and some very expensive tools and a machine.

Gotta love Apple for creating their products so badly repairable. It is this, which looks like a pita, or replacing the complete lcd+touchscreen which is the most retarded thing since you have to throw away a completely good working lcd screen. Also the touchscreen is a fraction of the cost compaired to the lcd+touchscreen. Thanks Apple for making us spend more than needed and not thinking about the environment!
@CookieCraftMedia6 жыл бұрын
No one Forces you to glue the LCD back onto the Digitizer, but its still an annoying process to remove the lcd first. I dont understand why they glued the glass on there in the first place, does it look different? The older iPads did not have their digitizers glued to the LCDs
@jdrs421410 ай бұрын
I feel you’re pain guys. I think the bonded LCD glass, was Apple’s way of marketing quality and feel of the product more than anything; while leaving it to the consumer to protect their expensive devices at all costs. I know, because I fell for the trap, and I’m a bit of an Apple fanboy. I noticed (and this is just me), that if the LCD isn’t bonded to the glass, the iPad just feels cheap and flimsy. ….and I got a nasty habit of tapping and feeling things with my hands. Anyway, this is something you gotta leave to the pros at iFixIt, or Apple Device Doctors. They have all of the expensive goodies to fix these. The gentleman here, needed a vacuum chamber machine to draw the air bubbles out of the UV bonding adhesive, while it was still wet. Then, you put it in the UV light to dry out. I can’t blame him for not having everything here. The equipment to repair Apple devices is insanely freakin expensive, and are worth more than Tim Cook’s net worth. I said earlier that I’m an Apple fanboy. Yes, that is true. …..but one thing I’m NOT a fanboy of, is how Apple, until recently, has pushed Apple products into proprietary territory, and pushed fourth against people’s rights to repair their Apple devices. You can’t just replace an iPhone screen with an aftermarket screen, and expect your iPhone to behave the same on reboots. The iPhone’s operating system will detect and discriminate the aftermarket parts on the phone, and disable functionality of the screen brightness, and home button functionality. You’re always gonna have a bright screen, and no Touch ID screen unlock.

This video shows so many bad things he's using the wrong size screen separator, he's yanking the screen off instead of using the string to get it off nicely, you can see hair on the screen when he's putting the glue, and he puts a shitload of glue lol
