You wake up at about 4:30am. Walk around when it's still dark and very cold. Find and get a small cup of hot soy milk or cacao. That was one of the best experiences of mine in Đà Lạt. You can feel the way people here are living, slowly and relaxed. Very different from the way people in Sài Gòn live.

Hey Max! I think I accidentally stumbled to your channel from Sonnys Food Channel and I would have to say that it’s one of the best clicks I’ve come across! Living in the Bay Area and being part of Viet cultural clubs but not being able to still take part of it and also visit Vietnam because of COVID sucks. However seeing your channel reminds me of my own culture brings my roots back into my life again! Although I miss my family in Vietnam, especially because I couldn’t visit my grandma since she’s ill, I can feel like I keep in touch with the country by watching your videos! I have recently watched your video depicting the food scenes in Dalat. It is my birth place and hometown growing up. I can't believe there are so many new dishes that I don't remember eating as a kid. Thanks for sharing your experiences of my hometown. I have not been back since 2016. Your videos make me want to go there now. A lot of shots and scenes of the town bring back happy memories. Are you living there or just visiting? The weather is getting hotter there due to so many hotels and trees cut down for development. The climate used to be a lot cooler. What would you say the average day time temp there? I have a trick for u.. after eating Vietnamese food. you should find a spacious place ... shade trees, wind ... bring a glass of water depending on your mood. suggestions : Morning: coffee [milk, black, eggs, etc.), or fatty juice. Lunch: coffee, lemonade, or whatever relaxes your mind Afternoon: Whatever you like but don't drink too much coffee. - In the afternoon You should do a sport or vigorous exercise to release the accumulated energy before eating dinner. have enjoy and get happy every day.

Yes, always makes me happy to see when they use the banana leaf. I wish everyone would do it more often as opposed to using things that will contribute to more trash that cannot be recycled. Plus, the banana leaves impart a nice fragrance and flavor (if the food is steamed in it).

Yeah, I'm Vietnamese and I've never done it. But I'm not an adventure eater like my mom as I tend more towards my dad's side for eating. But I think I can do hot vit lon if it's the quail eggs cooked in tamarind sauce like Sonny showed in his $1 videos a while back. That actually looks tasty!

I can never get tired of seeing the endless varieties of xoi, banh mi, and che/dessert you show. That xoi lady came across as super nice and sweet. I've never had banh trang trong but I can eat it and the mango salad everyday. I was surprised you ate hot vit lon since I didn't think you ate "extreme" foods, basically leaving those types of food for Sonny. Hahaha!

"Hot vit lon" is not that extreme to Vietnamese people. I think the extreme are the "coconut worm", and insect, and the blood soup (blood soup is edible, but not really safe to eat if you don't have good immune system)
