Bun Doc Mung - The first time for me to eat this Hanoian special dish. I don't think I could have picked a better place to try. Rich with tomatoes and a pork based broth. This place's real specialty is the dipping sauce used to dip all your additions in like pork rib, meat, tongue, northern meatballs, and etc. Also what feels like a somewhat healthy meal full of the elephant ear stem.

Che Thai - This was Chris's recommendation and he picked a popular place. You can't walk or drive past this place without it lined with locals for some sweet coconut soup. Nothing really stands out about this Che except the fact that it just hits all the right spots.

Xoi Thuy - A lady that has sold for over 30 years. Full of options for what you can have with your sticky rice. I know this place is more famous for their fried sticky rice, but I had to keep it simple and go with the plain. A delicious pate and braised pork belly.

that green dessert is Lao/Thai and possible Khmer too. It have a pandan aroma to it. The writing on the sign below the Vietnamese letters is in Thai. My wife Vietnamese wife said this dessert does not exist when she was little girl back in Vietnam many decades ago.

Bạn đi Sapa nhớ vào bản Tả Phìn ăn gà nướng ở nhà hàng Từng Hiền nhé. Đồ ăn siêu ngon mà chỉ dân sành ăn mới biết. Có món gà nướng mật ong, lòng xào nấm hương, mầm đá, xôi bảy màu,… Năm nào mình cũng phải đến Sapa ít nhất 2 lần. Sapa là nơi tuyệt vời để tham quan và nghỉ dưỡng với văn hoá đặc sắc, phong cảnh núi non hùng vĩ và khí hậu tuyệt vời nhất Việt Nam. Nếu có dịp bạn ghé qua Ninh Bình quê mình tham quan nhé. Ninh Bình có rất nhiều danh lam thắng cảnh như Tràng An, Tam Cốc, Bích Động, Hang Múa, Cố đô Hoa Lư, Vân Long, Thung Nham, Cúc Phương, Bái Đính, Nhà thờ đá Phát Diệm (Kiến trúc nhà thờ độc đáo nhất Việt Nam) và rất nhiều địa điểm khác nữa. Ninh Bình cũng có rất nhiều món ăn nổi tiếng như thịt dê, cơm cháy, gỏi cá Nhệch, cá rô Tổng Trường, bún mọc Kim Sơn, miến Lươn, xôi trứng kiến, mắm tép, nem chua Yên Mạc, bún chả quạt Ninh Bình (Nó rất khác bún chả Hà Nội) và rất nhiều món khác nữa.

Đừng nghe những gì người ta nói , mình sinh ra có đôi mắt để nhìn đôi tai để nghe có bộ óc để phân biệt, tất cả những gì ngày xưa đó là hoàn cảnh là tuyên truyền sai sự thật, hãy về đi và cảm nhận đất mẹ VN chưa bao giờ ổn định phát triển và đẹp như ngày hôm nay, cây có gốc mới sinh ra cành ra ngọn, làm con người phải có tổ có tông có dòng có giống , đất mẹ VN luôn bao dung đón những người con trở về, chỉ có con cái bỏ cha mẹ bỏ quê hương mà đi chứ quê hương có bao giờ bỏ những người con xa sứ, hãy bỏ hết lỗi lòng để về đất mẹ vì thời gia ko quay trở lại dc và đừng để hối tiếc, trán trọng

Don't pay too much attention to what others say, man. Everyone has a different experience, and I believe that Vietnam will not disappoint you, although there are many things that are really not good in Vietnam. Most of the people who immigrated from Vietnam to the USA or some other country before 1975 say that Vietnam is a bad country, because they want to instill bad things about Vietnam in your head. I know many foreigners of Vietnamese origin who also say that Vietnam does not have freedom of speech, does not have internet, or has a difficult, poor life like the aborigines living in the mountains, even working as a colony, henchmen of the China. I also understand the loss of you and your family, because my family also has many people died because of war. As a Vietnamese American, I think you should also learn about America's war of aggression against Vietnam, and if someone says Vietnam went to invade or any other war crime, the that is not true. Hope one day you will return to visit your hometown.

@Peter Nguyen You come back but you don't care about the positive, or you see it but you try to ignore it; you come back only to find the negative stuff that you think still exists. You read that this big official's relative is corrupt, but you don't notice that other officials have tried to denounce the bad guys and punish them, so that the state apparatus is cleaner. And the truth is, Vietnam still has many bad things. But do you dare to assert that the governments of other countries like the US or Japan are not corrupt? I am not a party member, neither is my family. But why do I have a different perspective than you, while I am a person living in Vietnam every day, seeing that I am free, can do what I want; while you, a foreigner, see that we have a secret life, not free to do what we want. You can try asking other foreigners who are or have lived in Vietnam if we are really "free". In the morning, we eat pho, in the afternoon we drink iced tea on the sidewalk, chat with friends, in the evening we can drink beer with friends, sing karaoke. Have you ever been to the pedestrian street in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City? If so, do you think they are the same as in North Korea? Our freedom manifests itself in the smallest things. And those are the things you can't see. Don't go back and see my country with your negative eyes. If you hate something, no matter how good it is, you will still find it hateful.

The way he pronounced the Vietnamese dishes is amazing🤩 He seemed to understand the local people pretty well and they are friendly too🤗 I'm actually from the South of Vietnam but I've never tried some of these dishes omg😲
