I’ve been to one of his shows where Grannies and Fetti turned the whole crowd up. At a young age, it’s his story telling + beat selection that sets him apart. I understand Rod’s point about his voice and flow being constant on this album and how that could get old.

Maxo is hella talented and consistently drops good projects, its crazy to me how many people haven’t caught on yet. I like how he can embrace the new wave sound but doesn’t have to and when he does it he still keeps it creative and original, and he can “actually rap”.

Maxo's been making moves for a while. 2 great underground tapes from 2015-2016. Bangers like Spike Lee, Clientele, Cell Boomin, Fetti. Was touring with Danny Brown in 2016. Had a great debut last year and he didn't flop with this new album, on the contrary he knocked it out of the park. Glad hes getting even more recognition. He shoulda been on XXL a long fucking time ago.

The way I see “Pray 2 the Dope” is almost as an epilogue to “Meet Again.” Meet Again is somber, but hopeful and upbeat in nature. Pray 2 the Dope is a bleak follow up. Similar to Lupe’s “Kick Push” 1 vs “Kick Push 2,” they mirror themes and melodies, though one is far more depressed than the other. I’m glad you guys liked the album, one of my favorites of the year for sure

In 2016, I went to see Danny Brown Atrocity Exhibition tour in Santa Cruz and Maxo Kream was opening act and at the end of the show I went to go get merch and was at the front of the line and this white kid next to me like 18 yrs old saw the maxo kream merch and said “who’s maxo kream?” and maxo kream was standing right in front of him talking with the dude at the merch counter and said “I’m maxo kream” intimidatingly and the kid was like oh fuck. It was hilarious
