like i said, KA and Roc are two sides of the same coin who deep down inside aspire to be the other side. Both sound like assassins or mercenary samurai who yearn to get the blessings of the other side. KA is an intricate killer who yearns to have the riches and wealth Roc talks about in order to bring, what he believes to be, comfort and security to him and his family who have been hurt for years by the trials and tribulations of life. Roc Marciano is a hitman who has a surplus of wealth and ill-gotten goods but yearns to find the inner peace and meaning of life that KA seems to naturally have or attain. I know its not that in real life, but the personas they rap through and when together make me feel that way about them. They need a damn album already.
@theFRACTALREIGN5 жыл бұрын
You explained the dichotomy of these two Emcees Perfectly! Personally, I believe the reason we have yet to hear a collaboration album between these two is because the artistic concept needs to be sound. One way we as fans can benefit from a Metal Clergy album conceptually would be the description you laid out in comment; A Hustler's yearning for inner peace coinciding with a Street Poet's urge to spread his gospel and improve his surroundings. If ever an album would display the nature of street morals and struggle alongside spiritual thirst for purity it would be beneficial that it comes from these two artists. I have watched all you guys reviews on Roc Marci's albums... Very good analysis on all these projects. He carved his own lane for sure and I like to call his style of music "Luxury Hip Hop" or "Art Gallery Hip Hop"... I play it in the car, in the house, or just chilling anywhere. Roc Marciano is probably my #1 favorite Emcee... And even though he isn't a Super, Lyrical, Miracle, Spiritual type of rapper, he CREATES ART Instrumentally and Lyrically and it's something that all hip hop fans need to appreciate. His material can be played in Art Galleries most of the time.

Give it time. It took me 5+ full listens to Reloaded on a winter night back in '12 before it grew on me. Reloaded is my favourite Roc Marci album but he is crazy consistent with his material - keeping it at a high quality at all times. Probably the most consistent artist in the game in the same league as The Roots and Pharoahe Monch. One thing though. How the ***k couldn't they know it was Prodigy's voice? Smh Reloaded is a 9.5/10 for me. Marcberg a 9/10 and this one is a solid 8.0/10 for me. Maybe a 8.5 after more listens.

Considering the age of these dudes I'm surprised they're not more familiar with his Flipmode work in the late 90's and UN days with Pete Rock in the early to mid 2000's. He was kicking rapid fire flows over crazy drums all the time back in the day. His progression from what he was then to present is pretty ill.
