I have a tip for the Valhalla Door hardware. The lag bolts that hold the escutcheon to the door can be drilled and tapped in the center of the heads and then place the domed brass covers on the workbench , put the correct sized bolt that matches the lag bolt tap( duh, of course) and pour epoxy into the dome to just above the head. Give it a few days then roll a ring gasket down to the level of the epoxy , screw them in until the gasket makes contact and use your palm to turn it just enough to hold but not so tight it pops the epoxy out...maybe try one or two like that? Let me know? Or don't ? Its just an idea...

Do you have any issues with metal warping when you do the final solid weld? If so do you incorporate it into your design or heat temper?
@Max_Randolph_Studios3 жыл бұрын
Yes, of course! Great questions!! I always start with a precise blueprint of what the design should be, and when a weld wasps that out of the concept I have to be creative to bring it back to the original intentions - sometimes that does include heat temper, just depends on the situation.

How do you keep your steel from rusting? Do you anodize or apply a coating? As someone who does a lot of sheet metal and welding, just curious. I typically patina or anodize
@Max_Randolph_Studios3 жыл бұрын
Great question! I have several finishes! I mostly use pure lacquer, sometimes adding pigments to it. And other times I'll oil the steel for a more antique finish! I rarely paint and cover up all of the detail work.
